PART FOUR: Paulo was having none of it. He started yelling through the gag - loud enough that the intruder became concerned about the sleeping roommate being awakened. The snoring across the hall had stopped., which alarmed the intruder. Was rescue imminent for Paulo? “Shhhh,” he whispered into Paulo’s ear while planting one hand firmly around Paulo’s already gagged mouth - further muting his muffled attempts to call for help. As Paulo struggled, he felt the stranger’s other hand move behind his head and clasp firmly around his mouth. “Shhh,” he whispered again. After about a minute, they both heard the snoring across the hallway resume - but even louder now. “There we go,” the intruder whispered to Paulo, smiling as he removed his hands. “Sounds like he’s out for the night,” he said stepping across the hall and peering into his roommate’s bedroom. Paulo continued to try and yell out in both frustration and desperation, but it was no use. The intruder smiled as the loud snoring continued relentlessly as the sounds of Paulo’s struggle were barely audible from his roommate’s bedroom. “Get comfy, bud. You’re gonna be here a while,” the intruder said looking down at Paulo.
