“you’re funny.” oscar remarked. his attire was the complete opposite of the other - dress shirt, well-ironed slacks, polished shoes. he knew his dad would get onto him for being more concerned about his looks than how he cooks, but old habits die hard. the city life sucked the small town instincts he had. apparently, also his small town instinct of not staring either. “you’re cute, but that’s not always why people would stare.”
