“join the club.” lorelai joked, which came out more bitter than expected. she then gestured to the sling her arm was in and the boot on her foot. “i’m only kidding, but, that’s great that you can own it! my uh– son,” why was it so strange to call him her son? she had no idea. he WAS her son. step son? soon to be but then not step-son? it was still just..too much for her to wrap her brain around. she raised him since he was a new born, he was definitely her son. “he decorated my boot. helped me own it just a little bit more.” she chuckled softly looking at the pixar sticker clad cast on her foot. 

sydney: damn, seriously?

sydney: i guess that kind of makes sense, since so many places start their sales earlier every year

amara: seriously!

amara: keep an eye out next year, you'll see!

“you’ll be fine,” he’s seen kids half her age with much worse. a little splint is nothing, at least, not in sawyers eyes. “how long do you have to have it on for?”

“were you drunk or something? ‘cause that’ll explain it all, honestly,” she slightly teased, thought she doubted that was the real reason behind the other’s injury. “i wouldn’t expect anything less, so, how you gonna do it? act like its some sort of ring?”

Chuckling at the words, she found herself nodding along. “If you need to wear a splint, you might as well make it entertaining right?” She joked, once she was certain she could speak without laughing. “Now I want to hear one of those elaborate stories though, they seem like they’d be pretty fun.” 

“At least you have the right spirit! If you have to wear it, you should rock it. And hey, it’d make a good conversation starter, much more interesting than defaulting to talking about the weather.” 

“ it doesn’t look that bad, it could be worse though it could’ve been your entire wrist or something. who knew real estate could be so dangerous? ”

“would you rather have the splint or a broken finger?” sawyer raises an eyebrow, though he’s sure he knows which they’ll choose. “it may be ugly but then you can throw it away after. bones nearly truly heal after they’re broken, they’re just back in place.”

sydney: it just dawned on me that in my whole 17 years of life, i have never actually been black friday shopping

sydney: not sure how i feel about that frankly

sydney: feels like a rite of passage kind of thing, but i also don't want to get trampled in a target

amara: i've done my fair share of black friday shopping.

the first shift back on the job was an eventful one. someone that antonio and his partner were trying to help had taken a jab at him, landing one hell of a punch. ‘’SHIT– don’t worry..’’ he grumbles to himself, a string of swear words leaving his lips in spanish ‘’i’m fine. its just a scratch.’’ but do scratches even bleed that MUCH??

JAMEELA JAMIL, THIRTY-TWO, SHE/HER  —— hey, did i just see AMARA BAKSHI walking around the block? i hear they live in an APARTMENT down the block and they’re a TOWNSPERSON who is a REAL ESTATE AGENT. they always look like they’re hiding something…but they’re so CONFIDENT  sometimes i wonder how they can be INDECISIVE . they certainly can’t be hiding SHE MOVED TO HALSTON TO AVOID GETTING MARRIED, can they?
