still on that tightrope

Been living with Kelsey for two months now, spent the past two weeks making some of the big decisions in early wedding planning, got a job offer in the new career path I’ve been after, and my best friend’s daughter wanted to hold my hand (finger) the entirety of our trip to visit them this weekend. This is a very beautiful age (mine, 36, and hers, 1).

Hit six weeks post op last Friday and got to have my first swim of the summer (with Kelsey at my parnets pool) but of course it's now raining for ten days straight.

I expect to be pretty bored by The Odyssey to be honest. I can't think of any movie I like that features battle armor, it's just really not my vibe, but I'll still probably see it both for Anne and because it's going to be the primary film conversation later this year. I'm more looking forward to The End of Oak Street - I love It Follows and am very fond of Ewan McGregor, so I have some hopes for the collab. I'm even more looking forward to Verity tbh, because I had a great time watching The Housemaid and this looks like similar trash.

Agree about Andy's romantic plot being the least interesting part, especially once the forced conflict hit. Didn't care even at all, but if he had been more interesting they might have spent more time on it, so whatever. That'll be an easily skippable side plot when it hits streaming and physical media.

I briefly talked about this in a general update ask I got awhile ago, but I did a genetic test (because I'm adopted) and found out I have a genetic condition that means I'm very predisposed to certain types of cancer (the big ones are uterus and colon, and ovarian is also elevated though not as dramatically) compared to the general population so I had a hysterectomy as is recommended to get rid of some of the danger zones. Relieved to have it done and recovery's been easier than I expected for the most part so far.

No, I watched the first few episodes and actively disliked it.
