I saw this clip from that documentary from a few months ago, and I couldn’t believe how much work he put into editing that music! Knowing it’s really his breath at the start makes it even cooler.

Side note to the dodging a cheek kiss gif, look at Shoma, it’s look like he is going to sleep on Javi. Lil boy is smart. lol

Shoma is eternally sleepy, Javi is warm and taller than him and smells good…the perfect solution.

Yes, I was remembering Javi spinning her around too, but I couldn’t lay my hands on the video source and I knew someone would ask so I just didn’t mention it. :)

There is a magic that urges me to paint when I see Yuzu perform. 

This sketch of Yuzu in his RJ1 costume from Continues with Wings was SO FUN for me to make. It took 2 ½ hours and used pen and watercolor. The size of the image is 18x14cm for the spread, so it’s quite small. I used very thin brushes. 

This is a video I keep in my phone and listen to it once in a while when I’m down. 

It’s one hell of a gifset, but I just don’t want to cut anything he said because every word shows his precious growing mindset. Everyone has weakness and difficult times, but it is so important that one can be critical of oneself even if others are lenient, be conscious of their ability and goal, be realistic but also optimistic about the future, and have a fire to keep going despite hardship. Each of those characteristics is good enough, but it’s such an amazing thing to find this all in one person, and condensed in just a few sentences in this interview.

I feel the same!! I’m not a morning person either and THAT BIG SMILE Javi had plastered all over his face since the very moment he approached the camera to talk to Yuzu got me really really soft cause… come on?? Who is that happy getting up that early for anything??? But Javi is just like that, kind and lovely enough to be genuinely happy for being part of this for his friend even if it means getting up at the crack of down on his own birthday.

All I can think is Javi just decided he’d stay up all night, which….is sure a choice. I’m assuming he thought “eh, it’s just a few minutes on an ice show, it’ll be fine,” forgetting that the internet is f o r e v e r.

It would be fun to see Yuzu at ROI! The dates kind of overlap with the Grand Prix, but maybe if he gets assigned to France he’d stick around.

Lmao the fact that drunk-ass, sleep deprived Javi threw on a costume to skate badly for 30 seconds at ass o’clock in the morning is sorta hilarious. Anything for Yuzu I guess.

Isn’t it funny that Yuzuru dragged Javi for being hangover? It’s so ooc for a Japanese person do it.

Honestly the whole thing is SO charming and SO them. Yuzu looked delighted, and his digs at Javi were so quick-witted, and meanwhile Javi still managed to look handsome and charismatic, even with bleary eyes and wobbling through a spin, and his smile at the singing was so pleased. I guess an arena full of people singing at you thousands of miles away isn’t the worst way to start your birthday.

I’m so sad I just got into the fandom when Javi’s talks of retirement are coming out. It seems I’ve missed all the precious years before of them actually skating together and having fun :(

I was feeling that way too, sad I only got one very rocky season of watching him (though at least it ended well), but I keep coming back to how crushed I would have been by the 2016-2017 season, especially at Worlds when Javi had his strongest SP ever and then fell apart on that dumb Elvis free skate again. So much as I would’ve liked to see him win his back to back titles, I’m glad I got to just be mildly disappointed versus heartbroken by the end of last year.
