After a year of lurking in the F1 fandom, I feel compelled to speak my truth: Nico Rosberg’s LinkedIn page is the richest text that nobody is talking about.
As the foremost Nico LinkedIn critical scholar* of our times, I’m begging someone, ANYONE, to get on my level with this.
*[amount of time I've spent scrolling his posts redacted, but trust me, whatever you're thinking, it's more]
Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.

americans are sooo desensitized to guns and sometimes it manifests in ways that affect your media literacy. like remember in the first episode of sherlock when john watson opens up his drawer and you see a gun in there and youre supposed to understand that this is narratively significant and conveys his suicidality as well as his willingness to skirt rules and laws but the first time i watched it i was like oh well theres his desk gun. lots of people have those
When my mom was visiting last year I took her to the retrospective of Paul McCartney’s photographs from the Beatles’s first US tour—especially fun since she was a teenager in the early-mid ‘60’s & therefore had more first-hand reactions to the images—and I was struck by the number of shots of cops. For a minute there, to my USian sensibilities, it genuinely read like Paul McCartney had a pronounced cop fetish. Like why are there so many lovingly-framed photos of cops, and specifically of cops’ hips?! Of course when I thought about it I realized that he was documenting the potentially-frightening novelty of police who carry guns. But to me the gun part of those images was so normalized as to be invisible, so instead my brain was like “Why is McCartney fixating on these cops’ dicks??”
gonna be honest i don’t know how many more ‘enter the 6 digit code we sent to your phone’s i got left in me
Scottish artist Sir Andy Goldsworthy (Order of the British Empire) rearranged leaves around the base of a tree in order to make it appear to be glowing.
Beyond his art, Neal Adams is rightfully remembered as an eternal champion of creators’ rights and for the part he & his work played in the Comics Code revision of ‘71 but his contribution to John Stewart’s creation is – I think – a rather underrated aspect of his career, especially as it’s such a great reminder of the kind of person he was. Taken from an interview conducted and transcribed by Allen W. Wright over at the Green Arrow: Bold Archer fansite, here’s Neal discussing John’s beginnings (x).
it's cool how in the 6 years since this tweet was written it's become significantly less useful not because anything has gotten better but because the majority of products on Amazon are now from fly-by-night brands called "ZZPORK" and "GLUM4PANT"

What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)
"i don't care at all about the stock market or know what an estate lawyer is, because i'm not rich 😏" your death will be a nightmare for your loved ones to deal with and their death will be a nightmare for you. if you are an adult i'm not saying you need to have a trustee on standby for your vast fortune but you should at least know what "probate" means
this is your reminder that you should make a will. if you are in the US you can make a simple one for free at freewill.com, or willfora.com if you're in Canada. if you need anything complex talk to a lawyer (i promise a consultation with a lawyer is cheaper than probate delays/an extended legal fight.) but these sites will cover your basics (I want my partner to get my car, I want my roommate to get my cat, everything else goes to charity/my other partner/my kids/my next door neighbor who brings me brownies.) the state does not care that you have been estranged from your parents for a decade or have been separated from your spouse the money will go wherever the state says it does UNLESS! you have a will.
freewill also has healthcare directives! if you have ever been concerned about your partner(s) being unable to visit you in the hospital or make medical decisions for you if you are unable to make or communicate your own wishes - especially if you are unmarried/poly - you should have a healthcare directive. they are extremely easy to put together and you can designate multiple people as agents; freewill's tool also lets you designate people you do NOT want making decisions for you (for instance, your very Catholic parents.) if you're outside the US you can search "advanced healthcare directive (country)" and usually find a toolkit; often end of life advocacy-type organizations will have them.
nobody wants to think about these things but even more do you not want your loved ones to have to think about these things, very stressfully and expensively, while they are grieving you. make a will. 🫵
kind of harmonically beautiful
hello I am at my wits end and I need to know something. Do you talk to your mother every day?
Yes
No
No nuance. If you don’t have a mother/are no contact etc this is not a poll for you.
You can elaborate as to how often you feel is a regular amount of communication between an adult child and their mother.
thank you australian government from protecting me, a child (21 year old) from the scary hells of the internet

Oat milk was discovered much more recently than you may have known. Like many now-familiar technologies, it was discovered by accident during the Apollo program when NASA discovered what a zero-g environment does to goat milk.
