Sofia had pulled herself into a corner booth so she could keep an eye on the bar and still shift through paperwork to figure out how much her ex screwed her. “Best way to reach me if you can’t get a hold of me on my cell is callin’ the bar and you know it,” she mused playfully as she glanced towards her cellphone, moving her hand up towards the power button to click it on to see how many times he tried to get a hold of it, a soft grimace crossing her features. “God, sorry.” She turned her head to look over at him, putting her pen down as she cleared her throat. “Would you mind just sitting down across from me? I just… I have a few more things to touch up on. It shouldn’t take me long… Please, Al… You’d be doin’ me the biggest favor.”
.
“Then why didn’t you answer?” He waited for her to check all of her missed calls and text messages to nod, giving her a silent I-told-you-so. While Altan would usually stay away from such a tacky habit with someone he was pursuing, Sofia was off the table as his friend so he didn’t care about blowing up her phone. Altan gave a bit of a sigh but obliged. He undid the button of his suit jacker before taking a seat across from her. “But I’m not getting any younger, Sof, so let’s make it quick, yeah?” He caught sight of a bartender and tipped his thumb back to let him know he wanted a drink, knowing he was there enough for the staff to know his usual. “What’s this?” He asked about the paperwork she was looking over.Â
