I can’t sleep because I like turtles too much. I was curious how I would draw the turtles in my own art style and how I would give my own take on their designs. I would use the 1987 turtles to start with, then give each of them their unique shapes that the 2012 and 2018 shows have defined them as. (Donatello a tall rectangle while kind of egg shaped, Michelangelo a round boy, Leonardo a triangle, and Raphael a square.) I like the idea of them all being the same age and height so I kept that. If I were to reimagine a story line for these dudes, I would think it would be fun and bright like the 1987 cartoon, but then stick closely with the story line of the original comics.

If you can’t read the chicken scratch, my notes of each turtle are as follows:

Leo: Good older bro vibe. Singularly minded, Gets to the point and can focus on one thing. Too honest. Good older bro vibes. Loves hanging with his bros. If he gets too bored or lonely he will go and bother them.

Donatello: American girl teeth. Hyper focused on tech and not much else. Optimistic and Chill. Does well under pressure. Empathetic. Other people’s emotions effect him a lot.

Michelangelo: Smokes bay leaves. (Giving off that stoner vibe) Paranoid. Shuts down in high stress situations. Bi-Polar? Drinks Kombucha.
