Though attempts have been made to discourage mating between merformers which are unable to breed, life always finds a way of surprising us. Many of these couples will make up for failed breeding by simply mating more often, which results in carriers carrying larger amounts of ‘dud eggs’ for the purpose of processing and removing non-compatible genetic material from their bodies.

It is theorized that this is due in large part to their inability to disengage their Sexual Interface Arrays during their mating seasons. Whether they are hunting, feeding, basking, socializing, sleeping, or otherwise indisposed, their genitalia are on display and primed for mating.
