the american healthcare system is so unbelievably fucked for so many reasons and the moment you lose your medicaid youll feel this 100x stronger.

i had a doctors appointment in november. over 6 months ago. after the completely normal appointment which lasted less than 30 minutes, i paid $225 for it because i have no insurance.

last month i got a message from billing saying i owe $200+ MORE for that appointment. i go back and forth with them and tell them that i do not owe that, i have them send me a bill, the bill charges me twice for the same appointment, i submit a claim, and surprise! they still want me to pay. it turns out their justification for the extra charge is that "issues were discussed that are not typically included in a physical". of course they wouldnt tell me what the extra issue was but i can speculate. i had gotten major surgery a few weeks before the appointment, and i did, in fact, tell my doctor. ✋😬🤚 my bad guys, didnt realize that would really eat into your margins.
