Bluebird (ao3) - lvckyphan

Summary: An unlikely tale of odd affection and baffling fondness between a pair of outcasts in a ramshackle orphanage comes to be plagued by tragedy when they move away to the green idleness of Scotland. Six years scuttle by, and all that was promised to remain simple is replaced by the ugly misfortune of dirty secrets, traumatic yesterdays and Phil Lester’s forbidden feelings for Dan Howell.

I haven’t done this is FOREVER and I’d love to! Let’s get started!

I’ll start with personal faves. These are the fics that meant the most to me to write, and that I still connect with and think about:

The Serenity Prayer

It was my first religious fic and I still get messages on how much it meant to so many people. It’s not too long (only 8 chapters) and there’s a couple of side stories that go with it too.

The Path of Righteousness

I actually made a layout of this town as I wrote this fic. I dove into this world more than any other. I still have my notebooks filled with notes just for TPOR.

Love You For Always

By far my saddest fic ever. It hits me a lot harder now that I’ve lost my own sister. I get messages all the time about someone reading this and crying. No, neither Dan nor Phil will die in this fic, but the entire story is about coping after losing a child. 

Piece by Piece

A story about surviving abuse and learning how to love again. I desperately tried not to have one person be a victim and another a savior, and I definitely didn’t want one to rescue the other and suddenly everything is fine. This isn’t a story I have revisited often, but it meant a lot to me to tell this story and I think it’s an important one.

Lighthearted:

More at Eleven

The mark in this story is NOT meant to be markiplier, but that’s who everyone thinks he is anyway so do as you wish. This is the story where Dan and Phil sort of became the side characters because everyone fell in love with the character Mark and they wanted to know what he’d do next. 

What They Don’t Know

This fic has the most hits of any of mine. People love it. I gotta admit, it’s not one of my faves, but people love the fake relationship trope and I think that’s why it gets so much love. I do like this fic, but I think there’s a lot of things I’d do differently if I were to write it now.

A Year in the Life

I had to come back and edit this in because I can’t BELIEVE I forgot it. Definitely a favorite of mine.

The fic where marriage doesn’t matter but sometimes it kinda sorta does.

This is mainly Dan and Kathryn and it’s the most reblogged and liked oneshot (on tumblr) that I’ve ever had!
