For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper then the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our inner most thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one whom we are accountable. -Hebrews 4:12-13

We all are in a battle that we can not see. One that spins and turns us from the inside out. The enemy is a lier and wants nothing but to destroy us, so we end up destroying ourselves. Without the word daily, without spiritual knowledge, and wisdom we easily fall victim to his schemes. The things we want aren’t always the things we need. If we allow our thoughts and desires to drive our actions, we will be restless and anxious each and every day. Life is not easy, so why make it harder? The Lord is watching our every move, to see if we can handle the life he prepared for us. There is nothing we can hide from him, not even a single thought. So prepare yourself, grow, learn, and lead by example. Feel responsible for no ones actions or consequences, for the only one we are accountable to, is the Lord Jesus Christ.

But you , O Lord are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense. Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Doing wrong leads to disgrace, and scandalous behavior brings contempt. Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook. It is not right to acquit the guilty or deny justice to the innocent. Fools’ words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating. The mouth of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips. Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one’s heart. A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe. - Proverbs 18:1-10

Self-Reflect:

It’s hard to speak on a scripture that you can so easily apply to yourself. For a long time I lacked the maturity to constructively take criticism. Was so easily bothered by what others thought, and had a wicked want to do things my way. Felt like the world was against me, because I couldn’t catch a break, but still kept moving how I moved. Not accepting that I was own worse enemy, and i was hurting myself by own my hand. BUT THEN, life hit me in a way that brought me to my knees. That made me cry to God even in the middle of my madness, and beg for forgiveness, understanding, peace, and strength. It was there I found a safe place, a place I could go to anytime of any day, and feel protected. The Lord I serve, I can feel him, I can hear him, and he never hides himself from me. The beautiful sunsets, the life long friendships, the hard but loving loyal family, his love and presence is all around. Today I thank him for my struggles and flaws. For I would not have a relationship with the Lord, be who or where I am today if wasn’t for it all.

Brace yourself, God put a good one on my heart tonight. It’s easy to get caught up in the world, to feel like we need to keep up with the constant change or the newest trends. To feel no worth, because we don’t have or don’t look the way the world says we should. When we allow fears, doubt, and shame to creep its way into our mind, it’s worse than cancer! The world today is in complete chaos, full of death, loss, pain and suffering lacking empathy and compassion. What we THINK is one of the keys to life. Our mindsets, the way we see things, what we allow to affect us, is all so important. With our current world, it’s hard to see the good in anything, and I get it, because I myself can be such a negative person, seeing the bad in everything, allowing the world and people to affect my actions. But if we just change our thoughts, look for the lesson in our struggles, and give praise for the blessings, we could be the encouragement for someone else to not give up. It cost everything to lose yourself in this world, buts it’s priceless to be faithful.
