Wearing an undershirt under everything you possibly can will save you a lot of laundry time or dry cleaning bills. Mens undershirt cost less than women's and they're long. Tuck them into your petticoat so your petti waistband isnt getting sweaty and yellowing. Armpit guards are good for the ops and blouses where you just flat can't wear an undershirt, and even then I highly recommend trying to find a low cut strappy camisole to wear.

Also tuck your blouses into your petticoat because it makes your waistline smoother.

Everyone goes on about "haha I'm such a rebel for going blouseless when it's hot" and like, first of all, no you're not, second of all is your breastbone and underboob soaking directly into your vintage Angelic Pretty and you're cheerfully sharing that with everyone? It's your clothes and your rules but like, you're going to regret that unless you go to the dry cleaners later that day.

But also just like, hand-in-hand with any other advice on this, my advice to new lolita is just: wash your stuff. Unless you have a specialty fabric or old baby that isn't colorfast, just wash your stuff. Put it in the machine in a delicates bag or a pillow case. Put it in a plastic bin of water in your bathtub. Just wash your stuff. It's not made of spun sugar. It will survive.

And then submit info about how well it went so other new lolita are less scared to wash their stuff.
