You didn't submit that digimon amv to otakon did you? cuz there are way more action packed amvs that deserve that slot.

Oh hey, my first ask.

Couldn't agree more. I know my audience (the Otakon judges) and an action AMV that reserves it's more action-y scenes at the end likely wouldn't score too well. Not only that, but not many people would even understand the concept of Adventure On and On unless they were Digimon fans.

So if you're upset that my Digimon AMV made it when something you feel is much better should be in the contest instead, rest assured, I didn't send it in. It may show up at smaller conventions or any contest that'll allow me to submit more than one AMV, but as my one shot at this particular contest that I've loved since 2005, you bet I'm going to try to send something I know will stand a better chance at getting in. That's pretty much the point of that one submission rule after all, to motivate people to send the best they've got.

Now that this one's done, maybe I can finally get back to the other Digi video that I haven't touched in a year...maybe.

Weird Digimon fandom things: It’s always odd when the fandom just straight up forgets that Yamato’s as athletic as Taichi and Sora, and might actually be more of an athlete than Taichi (although not Sora, as she is in fact The Ultra-Jock).

Like, every official character profile for him describes him as being good at both academic work and sports, we see on screen a few different times that he’s the strongest swimmer of the group, and he’s the only character to go into a career that requires a high level of physical fitness.

This also goes for Koushiro, who fandom has a tendency to typecast as A Fragile Nerdboy, but who’s on the soccer team with Taichi and Sora and athletic enough to keep up with the others.

The Chosen are just … such a group of fucking jocks, man.

The artists don’t get to choose the final designs. They offer different ones and give input but who ever was making the film got to choose which designs they liked.

For cash grab movies (like Sonic), that's always the case, the execs have final say no matter what. I'm sure the first 10 concept designs were all great before the client gave them note after note after note until it became what we got in the trailer.

But there are films where they actually care about the project (such as Detective Pikachu), and trust is placed in the collaborative efforts of the director and VFX team with little say from the execs.

To be honest, they look a lot more normal than their interesting fashion sense in Adventure/02. I still question why gloves were such a popular item in the group.

Kari does look like she's going out to catch bug Pokemon though.

I just find out trainer vs. trainer battles are possibly gonna be a thing in Pokemon Go. I don't know how it'll work, but I just don't want random strangers coming up to me for battles and telling me they like to wear shorts.
