her mom was a wedding planner, so she was surrounded by romance and newlyweds and she wanted that for herself. so she’d go to a lot of singles events and eharmony match ups. for a lot of ally’s childhood, it was babysitters, pizza, and watching cartoon network way past her bedtime. her mom wasn’t like....super available for her as a kid n she was pretty irresponsible. ally had to extinguish a lot of oven fires bcoz her mom started cooking then dashed off into the night for a date
ally was raised in lower middle class suburbia. she lived in a one-story, two bedroom house. shared a bathroom with her mom. like, totally not poverty by any stretch of the imagination. but ally lived in an area where u can go from 100k homes to $ 1000000 homes in a 15 minute drive. so she had a lot of wealthier peers who kinda looked down on kids from her part of town
she grew up havin limited contact w/ her dad n i shan’t divulge toooo much bcoz it’s one of her minor secrets but their relationship is not gr8
had a hard time in school due to (then) undiagnosed adhd. notorious for class clownery and fucking with her classmates. always the girl who wld get u into trouble. was... generally unliked by classmates and teachers alike
she didn’t rly get “popular” until 6th grade when the school shrink suggested sports (n meds) to manage ally’s energy n her mom put her into soccer, then field hockey. she stopped after 9th grade when she discovered the wonders of smoking weed instead of runnin sprints at 2 hr field hockey practices after school. it also didn’t hurt her popularity tht her mom was p cool w/ underaged drinking. not so much cool but indifferent. she was so busy with dating, girls weekends, happy hours, etc. that she ignored a lot of what ally did. so ally cld swipe a bottle frm the liquor cabinet or hv a weekend party without her mom freaking when she saw empty beer cans haphazardly hidden in the week’s recycling bin
ally lost her virginity at a party. not becoz she wanted to but bcoz she felt like every1 else was doing it. had a bad experience with a rich a-hole guy spreading rumors abt her & decided “fuck romance”. then she punched him at the homecoming football game :)
had a reputation as a troublemaker bt a fun one. she proudly wore the scarlet ‘a’ given to her as a result of rumors n gossip. so she developed a cavalier attitude abt sex. as such, she treated it like a transaction. literally couldn’t flirt for shit. [nsfw-ish] her m.o. at a party was to just walk up to a guy and point blank be like, “want me to suck your dick?” they’d always think she was kidding but she was dead serious. she treated/treats sex as no big deal despite feeling empty after sometimes.
so yeah ! was never academic but was always artistically inclined. so it was shocking when she got a scholarship offer despite skipping first period to get breakfast every morning. smoking weed in the bathroom during fifth period. or not turning in assignments. her art portfolio got her into luxor. her teachers were big mad to see the lazy kid succeed
