Dusk stopped in his tracks, bare feet sloshing in saturated earth. He knew he had cut a close path near the Lagoon, but he hadn’t realized how close. A silly mistake on his part. ”You’re concern is ill placed, mer.”

Artemis studied the creature, her interest piqued. "I rather enjoy where my concern is placed," she retorted before swimming up to a rock closer to where he stood. 

Don’t worry, I have no intention of getting any closer.

Suit yourself. The corals look lovely today, but some people are pleased at the sight of rocks, I suppose.

I don’t think I’m in any danger there.

Just a fair warning. You would be surprised at how many tread too closely to the edge of the water and think that they see treasure at the bottom.
