Happy Pride month everyone!
Also, I'll be pinning this art piece since there's something I should address. That old comic I made in 2019 wherein I portrayed a lesbian character being aphobic resurfaced on someone's Twitter and it's gotten 2.3 million views, something I was not aware of since I'd been taking a break from social media. To new people who hadn't seen the comic or are missing the context, it was the first 2 pages of what was meant to be a more thorough examination of ace exclusion, but bad faith actors quickly started misconstruing it as an attack on lesbians as a whole, claiming I hate lesbians, and reposting the comic without my permission to serve this narrative.
To be clear, I don't hate lesbians or anyone in the LGBT+ community for that matter. The comic was just an admittedly misguided attempt to address a real problem for which I needed to portray at least one person as the antagonist, yet it's been used to brand me as a hateful human being to this day despite it being something I already apologized for from 5+ years ago. If there are still people who would rather judge me based on a couple of now deleted images taken out of context from 2019 instead of a decade's worth of art, posts, and reblogs of campaigns that clearly demonstrate I am not lesphobic, then I honestly don't know what else I can say or do to fix that.
This might be one of the last Transcendent pieces you'll see for a few months because honestly, that experience soured me to working on the series and seeing it be shoved in my face yet again just makes me think I'm better off focusing all of my effort on Atlas Academy. Nothing too crazy has happened yet, but I hope this won't kickstart a new wave of harrassment. I can only apologize to the people who have been supporting me, especially the ones who were there when this first happened and stuck with me anyway. You are the reason I still kept making Transcendent content in spite of it all. Hopefully this will blow over with little fanfare and I can go back to making art without being paranoid about having it used against me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
