This one was fun to work on. Like, I tried a lot of new stuff! I feel like I def could have done some stuff better now, looking back. But tbh thats mostly because I learned so much working on it, and refined it all over time after! So for what I did accomplish, im happy! I was also inspired slightly by a tarot card!

This FRICKING HUGGE, FULL-RENDERED ARTWORK THAT GAVE ME SUCH A BAD TIME, but at the end... felt fulfilling to see finished (comes from a WIP circa 2022), especially knowing it will end at the hands of Mr Todaro 💜 as part of a Gift Art Book organized by @allsparkzines for the "I, Starscream" project.
Under the cut, I will leave as always, some snippets of the hellish process this one took OMG. STILL, I'M HAPPY IT'S DONEEEE.
First and foremost: the original idea was A MESS to work with because it was such an ambitious thing and with a rendering style I was still developming so... I didn't felt much motivation to do it until this project!
Adapting it for the book format was the first step. And after 3 years of getting better at digital art, I learned the best approach to not feel overwhelmed by such a bulk of work was to focus on each element of it apart, not all at the same time!
Starscream, especially: I worked on him apart from the rest to have better control over his rendering and place in the overall piece.
I was working on this quite nicely, until I committed the sin of "hahaha I know how to do this like a pro, I will take it like a champ very fast"... WRONG, WINDY, WRONG!
It's when my touchscreen started to had troubles (I needed to render the last third part of it with the aid of an optical mouse orz), making me switch from a hard chalk-like brush to a softer, pastel-like brush to make the blending of colors easier with fewer steps, but still in need of my full focus.
I have to admit, though, even if I feel accomplished with this piece... I have a love-hate relationship with those asteroids: they ended looking like the Mexican sweet bread [conchas] LMAOOO. I GUESS, I WAS HUNGRY rendering this late at night xDU
