The gift Kaden ordered won’t be here until next week.

We had a wonderful Christmas. Spent last Sunday with my family. Christmas Eve we spent with Brett’s family. We got to witness the marriage proposal of his niece by her boyfriend, it was beautiful and most of us cried. We received the most amazing gift from his mom and stepdad, a Go Pro that we’re going to strap to Utah to see his perspective of pheasant hunting. I can’t wait.

Christmas Day for me has changed so much in the last six years. Christmas Day is so quiet without the kids chatting and giggling and sharing their gifts, while I make Christmas dinner and we would all gather at the table to eat. Now the kids open their gifts, we eat breakfast and they leave for the rest of the day to spend Christmas Day with their dad. I don’t mind that, I want them to share the holiday with him too, but I miss them. Christmas Day is now just another day off from work. I do some cleaning up and focus my attention elsewhere. This year I’m doing laundry, reading one of my true crime books and drinking some wine.🍷
