He forces himself to not get too caught up in the concern and how good it makes him feel. “Look, if it means that much to you, I won’t do it. But don’t you go and fight my battles for me.”

Melitta, he’s my best friend.” He’s defensive, his face turning a little red. But he can’t let her down. And he can’t fight with her. “All he said was, just that, he, well let’s just say it was about girls and very crude.”
