Los Angeles Times. January 27, 2020.
I grew up a relentless Kobe Bryant fan. He is the reason I love basketball and, in turn, love sports and, in further turn, have made a career in sports page design.
This was the toughest page, emotionally, that I have ever had to design.

Los Angeles Times. Oscars. Feb. 10, 2020.
After it was clear Parasite was winning all of the night’s major awards, I wanted to give the film its due in the Oscars special section. I came up with the idea of using Korean characters on the quote page. Our pagination software doesn’t have fonts that allow for Asian languages (food for future thought...) so I had to type the Korean in Photoshop to save it as an image that I then placed on the page. Also, I don’t speak Korean, so I scrambled to find a colleague who could help me translate and dictate the correct characters. Shout out to multi-lingual coworkers everywhere.

I booked the section and then designed the V6-7 and V10-11 spreads, as well as (through tears) the back page, V12.
