//Another little update for everyone - I am awaiting surgery, currently. I go Wednesday for my consult with the surgeon and I will know then how long I have to wait for this hell to be over. Fingers crossed and good vibes it’s REALLY soon. Like this week or next preferably.
At any rate, my activity will continue to be spotty to almost non-existent as this continues. Currently, I am almost constantly in pain, but have had to return to work. When I am home I am resting. When I get surgery it may be a minute until I can sit at my laptop comfortable enough to write replies etc.
Any well wishes and patience are much appreciated. <3 Thank you all!
//Hey guys. I’m popping in to update you all real quick.
I’m out of town tonight through Sunday then back to work at 7am Monday. I work full time so throwing that out there. I’ll have another similar trip sometime in the next month or so. On top of that? Depression is a bitch, my friends. I have a LOT of deep cleaning to do that I want to put more focus on so I can have everything where I want it when our furniture comes sometime in August.
So since I can’t promise when I’ll be online and how long etc it may take longer to get replies and my presence on here may not be as frequent for a bit. Not going away just kind of wanted to set a status so you all know where I’m at.
So, until further notice I will be Semi-Active on this blog.

How this man has managed to score an interview with him was almost as big as a mystery as what the facility cooks put into the ‘stew’ that’s served to Arthur every Wednesday evening at dinner. He’s spent months in solitary confinement after an incident he’s had with a former therapist. A woman that he murdered with the very pen she jotted down notes about him with. He’s been waiting in this room for what feels like hours. He’s long since lost his sense of time- reality has slipped further from his mind and he’s become something more sinister as he’s been left to fester in a cell alone. The medication in his system left him feeling numb to most things- he’s overly medicated and feels sick most of the time. His hands are cuffed together in a similar fashion as the day he murdered his therapist and he already knows which maneuvers he could take if he’d like to use them to his advantage if needed: if this man decides to step foot into this prison only to mock Arthur to his face he’d simply choke the man to death with the very cuffs bound to his wrists. But for now, he’s nursing a cigarette with one hand, elbows resting on the table as he keeps the other hand close within the length of the chain bounding his cuffs and dark eyes are focused on the table where they didn’t budge upon the other’s late entrance.
He doesn’t need to look at the man to notice him offering his hand for a handshake- he sees enough of the gesture in his peripherals and perhaps once upon a time, he would laugh at such a mishap, but J isn’t phased. This man is a joke. But still, the man moves closer and extends his hand once more, this time in reach and the gesture goes ignored entirely. He seemed to desperate and J has no interest in shaking hands with a man who serves him no purpose nor does he trust this man. He’s expecting to be ridiculed. That this man would gather up some story that would slander J’s name if he were to step foot out of this room. Smoke streams from his lips slowly as he hardly breathes it out, allowing his lungs to absorb as much of the nicotine as they can because cigarettes were a mere treat for him these days. He allows there to be a long, tense silence between the two after the man finishes introducing himself. The only reason he agreed to this was because of the cigarette, if he were being honest. “J.” he answered finally, voice cutting through the silence but still low and reserved. He’s not giving this man a friendly welcome, nor does he care to make Knox feel comfortable. There was something fun about watching how people seemed to quake in his presence- it was almost like a game to him at this point. Though this man seemed more eager than anything to meet him. Emerald hues finally peel off the table to met Knox’s eyes. Arthur’s gaze was cold. Distant but still dark and menacing as he was waiting for the questioning to begin. “Take a seat.” he comments, watching and waiting for the man to sit now that they were ‘acquainted.’ “Take your time. We’ve got all night.” a hint of a smirk tugs at thin lips as he find it humorous that he just mimicked Murray Franklin’s words on stage to him partially as a joke but also because Knox was taking too long for J’s liking to get the interview started. And even if Allie didn’t understand, J still found it humorous and he didn’t care to explain.
Allie hadn’t even begun the interview and already he could tell he was off to a bad start. Everything in him screamed that he was going to fail. He could hear his co-workers laughing and see the headlines. He’d be laughed out of a job if he let this fall through. He couldn’t let that happen.
He let the ignored handshake go, deciding not to pay it any more thought. Instead, he picks up on what sounds like an attempt at humor to him from the man so many now knew as Joker. Allie had been watching Murray Franklin that night. He’d seen the guy’s appearance at Pogo’s. They were two completely different people, but that nervous guy, the one who had seemingly failed, was still in there, right? Somewhere in there was a guy who was familiar with being the underdog and Allie hoped to reach that guy because it was clear this one didn’t want him here at all.
Nodding, Allie took a seat and drew in a breath, composing himself. He took a moment to get comfortable before he met the guy’s gaze again. “Listen, J... You don’t want me here. I get it. But I’m not here to to mess with you or get something out of you to sell to the press or warp something for the tabloids. That’s not how I do things.”
He shifted in his chair, leaning just a little closer. “I’m here to hear your story. The whole thing. Because I want to. Because I think your story needs to be told. Because, for once in my life, I want to prove that I’m not a fucking joke and I think you, J, of all people could understand me on that level. So, I’m just asking for a chance.”
@devilsdecade
For a large paper, The Gotham Globe had a relatively small staff. Allie could count on two hands the number of people in his department. Of course, the staff seemed to change fairly often too. Not only were they pulling the weight of what should be twenty-some people, but different levels of abuse ran rampant. Most people couldn’t tolerate it and wound up leaving. Somehow, of course, he’d stayed. If only just to prove everyone wrong. That he could be a great reporter and write a successful story.
In the years that Allie had been working there, he’d seen everything from his co-workers harassing him and bullying him to answering to the same thing from his boss. Some days, he had to admit, were really brutal. He’d questioned on multiple different instances if was even worth it to stay here. Maybe he should leave the only place he’d called home and find a job elsewhere. Then, of course, that little voice would chime in that he wouldn’t have luck anywhere.
Today had already been a long and stressful one. He’d been there since 5am and was still going at 6pm. He’d lost count of all the coffee he’d had and definitely hadn’t even taken a lunch. Today he was covering for several call-offs and a no-show. It didn’t matter who was or wasn’t here. The paper had to be out in the morning and in the evening and he’d seen to the production of both.
Finally starting to calm down some, Allie was straightening out his desk when he heard the boss yelling and a door slammed. He looked up, innocently, trying to see what the ass-in-charge was angry about today. That’s when he saw the young woman who had started here a month or two ago. He’d seen her in passing, musing to himself that she was pretty but figuring she was way out of his league. Wasn’t everyone? This also wasn’t the first time he’d heard or seen something like this go on between her and the boss.
Observing her, he decided that she looked very upset. Too upset to get home safe or be alone right now. At least, that’s how he saw it. He could see the look in her eyes and something told him that now was the time to finally speak to her. What was the worst that could happen? She’d laugh him away like everyone else? Sure. Fine. But what he cared about most was actually making sure she was alright.
He shut the light off to his desk and grabbed his coat off the back of his chair and his hat from the stand. Making his way over to her, he offered her his best smile. “Hey... I know you don’t know me, but... Well, you look like you could use a bite to eat and as luck would have it... I’m starving.”
Allie tilts his head offering his arm to her, as a means of both being a gentleman and comforting. At least, that’s what he hoped it was coming across as. He’d never been great at this kinda stuff. “Oh! I’ll pay. And... Alexander Knox, by the way. You’re new here, right?”

@justacomedy
Allie had worked hard to get to where he was now, standing inside of Arkham Asylum and waiting for security clearance. For years, he’d put everything he had into his job. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t anything else going on. He went home every night to some Three Stooges re-runs, maybe catch some Murray Franklin, a beer and a bag of Cheetos. Friends seemed to be a luxury that he couldn’t afford. Girlfriends were even more of a far off dream to him.
Every time he would come up with the next big scoop, everyone in the department laughed at him. If it was something Alexander Knox was covering then it was bullshit. Nobody would ever believe him. The guys who were more popular got the good stories and the praise for it too. He never even so much as got a pat on the back.
But now? Ah. They wouldn’t be laughing now. Allie had managed to secure a one on one interview with someone that the rest of the crew at the Gotham Globe hadn’t even thought of. He’d thought it was obvious and brilliant, but everyone else had blanked on it. Of course, they hadn’t really eased up on the jokes, most of which telling him that he would fail and his story would be a flop and someone who had talent would have to come in and clean up his pathetic mess.
Standing and nodding at the security guard in front of him, Allie took a deep breath. He was being lead down a hall and on the other side of that door was the man that was going to help get him noticed. Hell, if he was being honest with himself, that seemed fairly fitting. This guy, another underdog, had certainly gotten himself noticed. All of Gotham saw the footage.
As the door buzzed open and he was shown inside, Allie thanked the guard and cleared his throat. On instinct, he stepped closer to the man at the table, forgetting all about what the man had done, and stuck out his hand for him to shake. He went flush immediately. Good one, Knox. He’s handcuffed.
“I’m sorry, here. Let’s try that again.” He places his hand within reach of the other man this time, offering a smile. “Arthur, right? Or would you prefer Joker?”
He swallows, trying to calm his nerves as he shakes his head. “Sorry... I’m Alexander Knox, the reporter who’s here to interview you, but... You can call me Allie or Knox. Ya know... Whatever feels best for you.”

@allieknox ♦ Gotham gets a visit from Metropolis ♦
After Mr. Wayne purchased the Daily Planet, the organizational changes were remarkable. Lois didn’t like change, but she ran with the punches. In the few interactions she’d had with Gotham’s most respected playboy, she’d grown to respect him a great deal. He mentioned in passing that she ought to meet Mr. Knox. After his recent insistence due to a particular mystery plaguing his city, she agreed to travel.
At her arrival at the Gotham Globe, she could feel the invitation of the familiar hustle and bustle a news organization could only give. With her coat draped over her arm, she asked at the information desk for Mr. Knox. Of course, she was asked to wait since they were answering another call. She turned around to take in the view. There was absolutely no way anyone could have a conversation without shouting. If there wasn’t someone pointing while speaking into the phone, another was meticulously typing away well under the typing limit. The Gotham Globe was no joke alright. She felt right at home.
As her eyes searched the room, she saw a man with sleeves up as he took notes from a phone call. His voice sounded familiar, so she walked closer and that’s when she saw the name plate on his desk. Aha That was who she was looking for. She folded her arms within the coat as she respectfully waited for him to finish his call. When he did, she pulled out her hand to offer as a greeting. “You must be Mr. Knox, I’m Lois Lane from The Daily Planet. It’s a pleasure to meet you sir.”
.
Allie was so absorbed in his phone call with the mayor’s office that he didn’t even notice the woman approaching his desk. He was used to the noise and chaos of the Gotham Globe. He’d learned to tune everything out and thrive in it all long ago. Of course, he was used to the ridicule and constant digs from his co-workers on his work.
Hanging up the phone, he almost jumped to see the beautiful woman in front of him. His jaw dropped a little before he regained his composure. He shook her hand and offered a wide grin. Nodding, he stood and sat on his desk instead. “Yeah... A pleasure. Allie, actually.”
He slid his notes aside and stuffed them into his drawer before turning his attention back on her. “Lois Lane... I’ve read some of your stuff. Great work.” He pauses, noticing some snickers and stares from his co-workers. He ignores them and focuses on his present company. “So... What can I do for you? Show you around Gotham? Take you to lunch? Buy you dinner?”
darknght:
“Mr. Knox,”
personable disposition. angelic features. the wayne enterprises CEO holds out a hand towards the other, signature smile upon his face as he greeted the reporter. hair is mussed up, a signature of the man. he had not requested a meeting with the man, but would not refuse him away if he wanted to speak to him. one did not make enemies of the press lightly and Bruce could NOT afford another slip up like the last one. especially with someone as important as the other. especially when the press were an important part of maintaining his reputation and that was all that mattered right now.
“Please. Sit. I was not expecting a visitor.”
@allieknox REQUESTED A STARTER
“Mr. Wayne.” Allie enthusiastically takes the billionaires hand and shakes it. When he lets go, he takes a look around at the office and nods, taking a seat across from the other man.
As a reporter, he was still struggling to make a name for himself and be taken seriously. He wasn’t exactly the type that cared about celebrities like Bruce Wayne, but he knew that if he could secure an interview, he’d be able to start to etch a name for himself. He was going to prove, one way or another, that he was a great reporter.
“Oh, uh, yeah...” He grins, shifting in his seat. “Sorry to spring this on you, but, I figured there’s never really a good time to get in to see you.”
//Stumbled across my old folder back from I first made Allie in 2012 and everyone used gifs with RPs so I made my own shitty gifs. Behold some of these winners that I thought were lost:

Allie didn’t exactly care much for Bruce Wayne. Of course, that opinion hadn’t formed until after his partner, Vicki, became involved with him. He had let go of his crush on Vicki Vale enough to view her as a friend and colleague that he cared deeply for. He didn’t like what her relationship with the billionaire was doing to her. Call it being over-protective, sure, but he’d had enough of the guy already.
After a press conference, Allie had spotted the billionaire and rushed over to him before he could disappear like he seemed to do to Vicki. “Hey, Wayne. Look,” he caught up with him, eyes meeting the other man’s. “If you’re gonna date a woman like Vicki... I don’t know... Maybe at least show up for dates that you ask her on?”
//Welp. It finally happened. I made 146 probably useless icons of this goober
