لـيـس الـزهـد أن لا تـمــلـك شـيـئًا بــل الـزهــد ألا يـمـلــكــك شـــيءٌ Detachment is not that you should own nothing. But that nothing should own you.

We broke so easily. Like it was nothing. Like we were nothing. Does that mean it was never meant to be in the first place? That we were an accident of fate? If we were meant to be, how could we both walk away just like that?

just in case you haven’t heard, today two attacks have happened against Muslims outside of mosques. One in London, England where a white man drove over people walking out of the mosque chanting “kill all Muslims” and killed a man and injured at least 10. The other in Virginia, DC, USA where a 17 year-old Muslim girl was assaulted with a baseball bat along with her friends before she was kidnapped and later found slain and dumped in a pond.

Is it still considered a heartache when in fact, it’s your entire body and soul that feel broken?

And grant me a light with which I can walk among people, and through which I can be guided in a manifold darkness, and with which I can enlighten myself from doubts and uncertainties.

days like these when it’s raining rivers outside and every leaf now washed out of dust is reflecting the skies light, i pull my heart out of my chest and pray: “here ya Rabb, purify me the very same way.”
