I am SUPER pro-mage, pro-mage rebellion, Anders was right, Tranquility should be forbidden, MOSTLY Anti-Templar...at least the way the order is currently in the games. I could go into a long winded ramble about how I think the circles and the Templars have their place especially since some mages want them, but there should be an alternative for the mages who DONâT want that (Cough cough, the College, cough cough), but thatâs a different point.
Alistair and Anders are tied for my favorite character/romance. Anders is the important one for this post.
My Inquisitor is a mage--Dalish elf, too. So sheâs very strongly against tranquility, the circles--sheâs softer on the templars, though (Sheâs romancing Cullen lol).
She recruited the mages as Allies.
Sheâs also strongly pro-Warden. I headcanon that sheâs starry eyed over The Hero of Ferelden and the Champion, for different reasons. And that she spends a lot of time with Alistair before going to Adamant and forms a really strong bond with him.
Plus that line of âI would not go through such pains to cure our calling only to lose him to your inquisitionâ from MY Warden, is akin to a death threat lol.
SO, Hawke was left behind in the fade.Â
(The only reason I was able to make that decision was because I headcanon that Anders seeks out Alistair and Aurora and stays with them so HEâS NOT LEFT COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY ALONE IN THE WORLD)
But, anyway, what Erimond has done to the Wardens, the fact that his actions led to Hawke left in the fade, plus the personal insults, etc etc...
My Inquisitor HATES Erimond. For good reason.
She was chomping at the BIT to get back to Skyhold and straight up murder him, chop his head right off.
Then this smug shit says he WANTS to be killed because he will ascend.
Well, sheâs not going to give him a damn thing that he wants. Sheâs not going to just lock him up, thatâs not enough punishment for what heâs done, and sheâs thirsting for blood and vengence.
So...that leaves giving him to the Wardens...and making him Tranquil.
She wants to punish him herself, sooooo...
She lashes out and makes him Tranquil.
I KNEW there was going to be rampant disapproval. That was enough to hurt. It went against my standards/morals for the series, but I wanted him to suffer soooooooo much.
Not to mention it triggers the How Could You war table operation with the mages in uproar for making a mage tranquil.
Then I instantly thought What Would Anders Think and I just...
OOOOOF
Mah HEART!
But Iâll still do it because I 100% believe my Inquisitor wants Erimond to suffer and she just lashes out unthinking/uncaring of the consequences or the violation of her own morals or the implications of such a decision. But then feels SUUUUPER guilty/distraught about it later.
Not in any way feeling bad for Erimond, just that the committed the act. The fact it happened to Erimond, eh, that part she doesnât feel guilty about. But going against her beliefs/morals and betraying the trust of the mages, plus disapproval from DORIAN, oof.
Iâm sure Alistair would disapprove, too. Which, because I like pain with this situation, I like to think heâs still lurking around, he hasnât left for Weisshaupt yet, so he sees it happen, cause you bet your cheese wheels he was going to be there for Erimondâs judgement.
But yeah. Iâm stewing in a lot of emotions right now, guys.
