Camp RAD 2015 has come to an end and I am inspired, sad, hopeful and eager for next year. These children inspire me to inspire change. They live life to the fullest, despite their challenges. They play hard and work harder. I love my campers and it has been the best summer yet! Can’t wait to see what the future holds for them, as well as for me! ☺️
Will post longer blog soon about the entire camp experience! 😃
Can’t believe I got close enough to take it without it fleeing in panic, like they normally do! I REALLY don’t like skinks! I love my Green Anoles, but these freak me out for some reason! This one is somewhere between young and adult since the stripes are still somewhat visible. Most of the adults we have are completely brown with bright red heads…It’s head is red for mating season! (Great, they’re multiplying!)
I love my critters!!!
I got my first set of oils in the mail today. I'm more than excited!!! I cleaned my kitchen and wiped the counters down with the Grapefruit oil. It smelled so clean and fresh! After that, I used a damp paper towel with a couple drops each of Ylang Ylang and Neroli oil to wipe down some random pieces of furniture in my living room. I sat down to enjoy those and about 20 minutes later, I couldn't keep my eyes open. I fell asleep and woke up 2 hours later! Could it be that these oils work so well that a few drops of each actually put me to sleep? If so, I'm ready for round two! Let's see what other discoveries I make along my new Essential Oil Adventure!

My beautiful hydrangeas after this storm!
Like a mouse in a maze.
Wake up. Have cup of coffee. Get dressed. Take my first adderall of the day. Go to class. Come home. Have another cup of coffee. Put on a movie to play in the background as I attempt to finish my research proposal. Take my second adderall of the day... BAM. I'm asleep. I'm so asleep that I'm dreaming. I'm dreaming that I'm running through a hospital trying to find the room that I'm supposed to be in, only I keep entering rooms that look like my room, but they're not. They're rooms of other people. Important people. Doctors performing surgery. Nurses performing CPR on someone who's dying. Business men giving an important presentation. So on, so forth. Every time I enter one of these rooms I interrupt what these people are doing. Knock the surgical tray over, trip over the oxygen tube, stumble over a chair loud enough to stop the speech. As if I can't enter a room, quietly notice it's the wrong room, and gracefully exit. I jerk back to some sort of consciousness and eventually realize that I had been dreaming. Only, it took far longer than it should have to come to that realization.... The reason? This scenario is all to familiar. Everyday I tend to go through life whether at school, home, driving in my car, etc., and most of the time I feel as if I'm just looking for where I'm supposed to be while others are exactly where they are supposed to be, doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing, at exactly the right time. And they appear to be doing these things effortlessly. Why then, do I seem to stumble through the "rooms" of my everyday life like a mouse in a maze? Somehow, at the end of the day, I reflect on the day and realize that I have completed everything asked of me. HOW!? Everything seems hazy to me as I go through it. Yet somehow, I make it to another night, only to wake up the next day and stumble through the day ahead, and the next, and the next. Do I appear to be this lost to other people throughout the day, or is this just the way my mind perceives my aimless wandering? Am I the only one who feels like a toddler trying to learn to walk in a world of adults mastering the ability to rule the world? Or am I just simply destined to forever be a mouse in a maze looking for the cheese...
