My Mind But In Words

I think we terribly overcomplicate happiness. today I walked down a windy road and had to hold onto my cap so it wouldn't fly away. Isn't that a good enough reason to be cheerful?

Why am I like this? I could have become anything. Is a life even worthy when it does no good for society, or even for itself?

Oh night, bear witness, how hard I tried.

I wish there was a meter, or perhaps an equation, to calculate exactly how much someone values you. That way, I would never make the mistake of loving someone more than they love me.

Is there a pain worse than the act of waiting?

My heart is racing. I’m sobbing here in my room like a patient left behind in a psych ward. ​Does my suffering not soften your heart?

It’s a different kind of pain when you’re mad at someone but you also understand their perspective. ​I despise the emotional maturity.

Maybe in another reality, I was fed up with the disrespect. Maybe somewhere remote in the universe, I walked away when I was supposed to, choosing my peace and my dignity. ​That self of mine would be disgusted by what I have done to myself here.
