The Story of the Dress Micaela Coel wore for The Emmy Awards 2021
--
After winning her award, Michaela Coel delivered the rare message meant for those outside the glitzy room in which she stood.
"She was a big winner on the night, picking up an award for I May Destroy You, and Michaela Coel also made a brilliant impression on the red carpet. The actress, writer and director chose a striking neon yellow two-piece by Christopher John Rogers for the event, which she paired with matching pointed pumps and Alighieri jewellery." - Harper's Bazaar

Realists
Part I
This is for the logical thinkers and the realists; the practical people and the problem solvers. This is also for the “sees both sides” individuals; the understanding ones with perspectives and last but definitely not least, the rational ones. Hi :) You’ve pretty much got most of your life figured out; not that its smooth but you have a general idea of what you need, to get where you’re going. You aren’t really afraid to dream big and have great expectations from yourself(even if it’s a bit nerve wracking.) You have a few habits that you need to fix, but in time it’ll come. You drink your water most of the time (other times you can be dehydrated due to stress) and keep positive thoughts as much as you can. People who make high emotional decisions are categorized as unstable or irrational to you and require maturity to live a more peaceful life. Once you can explain why something is happening logically, that becomes the solution as well. It’s ideal really. If it makes sense and its visible, then you have concrete evidence to make decisions from. Now, you do express emotions, but mostly the ones that you have control over like happiness, a sad moment, anger, or excitement. From what we have known, your kind.. well our kind, doesn’t get depressed or experience anxiety regularly because you live your life logically and don’t put yourself in positions to get to that point. Its admirable honestly, because most people struggle in that department and are usually aware of that struggle too. Most people who are “emotional” hate that they are “emotional.” I have a question for you though. What happens when we’re talking about the unseen things? Emotions you don’t even know, you don’t know, that you have? What about anxiety that doesn’t show up emotionally or depression that isn’t presenting itself through emotionalism? Did you know that was a thing? Yeah. That anxiety can be present in a person but not show up emotionally or that depression doesn’t always present itself through emotionalism? Eg: feeling very sad, lonely, suicidal, overly nervous or overwhelmed. Even stress has a different way of presenting itself; you don’t always have to feel stressed to be stressed. The first time I heard that I froze. This could mean I may have experienced anxiety, depression or stress and not even know it.. Meaning I may have been having experiences that have negative effects on my life that I haven’t gotten the chance to fix because I didn’t even know there was a problem. Almost like having silent killers; diseases with no symptoms.
Kind of like a virus that didn’t have to spread but because there were no socially normal symptoms to indicate that there was a problem, it wasn’t caught until things were very bad..
And I oop.. Okay if you’re panicking internally a little it’s okay. If you’re not, then you’re probably already aware of this or worse than you thought you were when it comes to emotional responses. Either way you’re still okay ultimately since you’re reading this post. :)
