Ryan! Look What I Caught.

5.20.2017 Inshore spoils! Didn't spend long, but we did catch a large number of trout. Probably 75-100 between 3 of us. Only a few were keeper size...and one rough mackerel. Beautiful day on Weedon Island flats.

Spent the day fishing with my dad and brother for dad's BDay. I out-fished the two of them as usual. Brought home some snapper, & Spanish macks. The only one worth taking a picture of was the one we had to put back. We were at the skyway most of the day, and this 27" snook smacked a shrimp on a jig head. Brought him in on 3k Stradivarius, and a med light redbone rod. 12 lb super slick braid and 30lb yozuri pink leader. Great day, and Toby's new boat works great!

Fishing day with the Family! What an awesome time we had! Now all I need to do is catch a real fish, as my wife said her screen saver is embarrassing with the catfish in it.

I had an equalization issue that resulted in a mask, and face full of blood…Tom said I like look “bozo the clown”, I have to agree.

12.22.16 Great day in shallow water! Shot my personal best hogfish today...21 inches!!! Also used my new riffe wetsuit, it's awesome. Big thanks to my brothers for the early Xmas gift...I was warm for the first time in 4 years. There was little viz, but for a short trip (3 hrs) it was an amazing day. Had a spear tear out of another slob hogfish, and a COBIA! Can't get them all I presume. Spent the whole day in 20 ft of water, and chased monsters the whole time! I also saw a trigger fish 3 feet wide, no joke...wasn't sure if they were in season, so we let him swim on, but my gawd was this thing huge!

2016.11.21 What an amazing day out on the water! Went out on "Lake Mexico" and had top to bottom visibility in 45ft! I used a new gun my brother Toby made - enclosed track and teak...poured graphite to be exact - Signal 7 Spearguns. I hit everything I aimed at...in the face. I shot a mess of hogfish, personally...and everyone else shot some good ones too! Ozem hit a monster mangrove, well North of 22". Tom got a nice gag to add to our harvest. This was a day for the memory books! Should be a very tasty Florida Thanksgiving!

10.17.16 After work special! 29incher! Eating well tonight, thanks to Tampa Bay.

10.15.16 Spent the whole day Fishing...amazing! My beautiful, and insanely pregnant wife suggested I take the whole day to go fishing...so I did, before she had time to change her mind. Started off fishing for snapper at the bridge...but it was too rough. Then moved inshore, and cleaned up on the flats. I caught: 3 trout...kept 2. 1 mangrove...kept. One short flounder...lost a keeper! 2 small gags. 2 small redfish. 1 small snook...and broke off by two other nice snook. My father caught: Multiple foul hooked pinfish 1 small trout. 3 redfish...kept 1. We did all this between 6am and 12pm. Then around 2pm I met my brother for a lil inshore Stone'N'Spear action...as it was opening day of stone crab 2016. The visibility was horrendous (like 6inches or less), but we managed to shoot... 1 mangrove 3 sheepshead & 12 claws between colossal and large sizes. All and all a great day in Tampa Bay.

Chris' 30th Fishing Trip We tried live bait, with a chum block on the flats. On bobber and on knocker rigs. Also threw a few artificial here and there. It was hot and the fish were pretty small...until the very end of the day. Chris caught another shark, and we got it to the boat...bonnethead. He also caught a number of trout. I caught one keeper 15"+, early in the day. I then caught a variety of pinfish, mangroves, lady fish, and lots of "almost trout". Then as we drifted towards our exit channel, in maybe 10 inches of water...the line started screaming. This is by far the biggest trout I've caught in these waters...24+. We had a wonderful meal, and enjoyed the relaxing Sunday on the water!

All in all it was a great morning on the water.

Makes a shitty day better in a second!
