My cousin is such a talented artist. 

I have to take this out of my tags because yes the audience is mostly supposed to be with Alex on this journey (and my heart is a million tiny pieces on the floor) but oh Maggie. Maggie who melted into that kiss. Maggie who lights up around Alex and trusts her almost immediately. Maggie who clearly is guarded and tough but who has been nothing but kind and supportive to Alex. Maggie who can’t stop watching Alex go and is touching her lips because that kiss was good. And now Alex is walking away and Maggie’s stomach is in knots and her heart is in her throat and it hurts so much worse than it was supposed to. It wasn’t supposed to hurt like this. It wasn’t supposed to mean this much. Maggie’s a small town girl who’s had to fight her whole life to find a place and people who will accept her and along comes Secret Agent Alex Danvers who hangs out with Supergirl and takes over crime scenes and who?? likes??? Maggie? Flirts?? with Maggie?? and then comes out to Maggie. And when you’re the small town girl who isn’t used to it ever being easy, who is so used to being the outsider,  who the pretty girls call names (and tell you you’re married to your job), when it is easy its terrifying.  When the pretty girl looks at you like you’re the answer to her whole world its scary because it can’t be real….right?  Of course its not real. Alex just figured out she’s gay. Maggie is the first lesbian she’s ever met.  Even if Alex thinks she likes Maggie, the moment Alex finds someone better, someone prettier, someone not from a small town, she’s just going to leave Maggie. Because that’s how it works? 

Right? 

But Alex is walking away and she’s crying and Maggie’s thinking ‘what if I was wrong?’ And it hurts. 

“Dr.”

“But are you a man or a woman?”
