Summary: a short in-between chapter that i felt didn't quite fit with the next one! no warnings
Note: If you've read this far, I just wanted to say thank you, and I appreciate you <3
-
After you witnessed the kid use the Force for the first time, you couldn't help but wonder why the Mandalorian hadn't told you about his abilities before. You thought about all the things you had seen in your years of studying, and how this was something you had only read about in ancient texts. There were rumors, of course, about a Jedi helping the rebellion win the war. But you werenât quite sure what to make of it. It was incredible to see the power of the Force with your own eyes, but it also left you with many questions.
Afterwards, you tried to talk to Mando about it, but he didn't seem interested in discussing it. You wondered if it had to do with his past, or if he just didn't want to dwell on the subject. Either way, you couldn't help but feel a bit frustrated. You wanted to know more about the childâs abilities and what it could mean for his future.
As you sat there, lost in thought after the conversation, he waddled over to you and tugged on your pant leg. You looked down at him, and he gazed up at you with his big, innocent eyes. You knew that no matter what the future held for him, you would do everything in your power to protect him and keep him safe.
Soon after that, the Mandalorian left. He was following the tracking data from the homing beacon you found together on Shivao. You were to stay with a mechanic he introduced you to named Peli. Peli was a tough, no-nonsense woman who was instantly skeptical of you. However, after seeing how willing you were to help her work, she warmed up to you quickly.
Over the next few days, you worked with Peli on repairing and upgrading various droids and equipment. She taught you a lot about how to repair and maintain machinery, and you found yourself enjoying the work more than you thought you would. It was satisfying to take something broken and make it work again. You didnât have much experience beforehand working with these kinds of things, but it wasnât too difficult for you to pick up new skills. It seemed that was all youâd been doing lately, anyway.
One morning, you woke up to the sound of Peli clanging pots and pans together in the kitchen. You spent your days helping out around the workshop and watching over the little one, taking breaks to rest and let your shoulder continue to heal. You were feeling much better, but still needed to take it easy for a little while longer.
You slowly sat up, careful not to jostle your shoulder too much. The kid was sleeping soundly beside you, snuggled up against your side. You smiled at the sight of the little guy, feeling grateful for his safety.
You got up and made your way to the kitchen, where Peli was already hard at work making food. She looked up as you entered, a smile on her face.
"Morning, sleepyhead. How's the shoulder feeling today?"
"Much better, thank you," you replied with a grateful smile. "Is there anything I can help with?"
Peli shook her head. "Nah, I've got everything under control here. You just focus on getting better and taking care of the kid. Speaking of which, I've gotta run some errands in town. You mind being alone for a bit?"
"Of course not," you said."We'll be just fine."
As the days passed by, you found yourself constantly replaying the events in your mind, each detail etched into your memory with painful clarity. The attack, the injuries, the feeling of helplessness as you failed to protect the child - it all weighed heavily on your mind, leaving you feeling scared and vulnerable.
Despite your best efforts, you couldn't shake the feeling that you had let the kid down. That you had failed in your duty to protect him, and that he had been put in danger because of your shortcomings. The doubts and insecurities that had plagued you before were now amplified, leaving you feeling even less confident in your abilities as a protector.
But even in the midst of all this doubt and fear, there was a glimmer of determination that burned within you. A fierce resolve to do better, to be better, to never let the child or his father down again. You knew that it wouldn't be easy, that there would be more challenges and obstacles to overcome, but you were ready to face them. To push through the fear and uncertainty, and emerge better on the other side.
As you looked back on the events that had transpired, you realized that while you may have been scared and unsure of yourself in the moment, you had never truly given up. You had kept fighting, kept pushing forward, until your attacker was dead. And that, perhaps, was the greatest lesson of all - that even in the face of overwhelming adversity, you could find the strength to keep going.
â
Days turned into a week and still, there was no sign of Mando.
Today, while Peli was working on a droid in the garage, she struck up a conversation with you.
"You know, you're pretty good with that kid," she said, looking up from her work. "You're a natural caretaker."
You smiled, feeling a sense of pride at the compliment. "Thanks, Peli. I've always liked kids."
"Yeah, well, not everyone's cut out for it," she replied. "But you seem to have a real knack for it."
You shrugged. "I guess I just like taking care of people."
Peli nodded, turning back to her work. "Well, it shows. Maybe you should consider settling down and starting a family someday."
Your heart sank at the mention of settling down. You had dreams of adventure, exploring ancient ruins, unearthing forgotten civilizations, and piecing together the mysteries of the past through your archeological endeavors. The thrill of discovery and the allure of the unknown always beckoned you. The thought of being tied to one place, anchored by the routines and responsibilities of a settled life, seemed suffocating at times. But as you looked down at the child nestled in your arms, a wave of tenderness washed over you, softening the edges of your restless spirit. You couldn't help but imagine the joy of passing on your love for knowledge and exploration to the next generation, of imparting the wonders of the galaxy's history to a new curious mind. The idea of building a family, grounded in the love and shared experiences, began to flicker as a distant possibility in your mind, a seed of warmth and longing taking root. Maybe, just maybe, there could be a balance between adventure and stability, between the thrill of uncharted territories and the comfort of a loving home.
"I'm actually an archaeologist," you said, fidgeting with your hands.
Peli raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Well, look at you, all fancy and academic. That's quite a departure from bounty hunting."
You gave a nervous laugh. "Yeah, I guess it is. It's always been my passion, though."
Peli leaned in, her curiosity piqued. "Tell me more. What's the most interesting artifact you've ever found?"
Your face lit up with excitement. "Oh, there are so many! But I think the most fascinating one I've ever come across was on Plexis. It was a small, intricately carved statue that my professor believed to be thousands of years old. It was so well-preserved, it looked like it had just been made."
You went on rambling for a bit, but Peli actually seemed interested.
But as she returned to her work, your thoughts turned to the Mandalorian. You wondered where he was, what he was doing, and quite anxiously, if he would ever come back. It was a feeling of uncertainty that you were trying hard to shake.
The heat of the day had dissipated, replaced by a warm breeze that carried the scent of Tatooine's sand and spices. The sun was setting over the planet as the dwindling light spilled into Peli's garage. You were sitting on a crate, watching the kid play with some loose wires on the floor.
Just then, the outside door slid open, and your heart skipped a beat. He was back. The Mandalorian strode in, and for a moment you couldn't take your eyes off him. You felt a rush of relief and joy to see him, but also a pang of guilt for your thoughts of him not returning.
Mandoâs armor was covered in a dried, green substance. He was carrying his rifle over his shoulders, with items strapped onto it. Most notably, there was an extra set of rough-looking Mandalorian armor, with the paint chipped off over half of it. It seems he hadnât found quite what he was looking for.
He didn't say much, but he didn't need to. His presence alone was enough to make you feel at ease. He made his way over to the child, who was babbling excitedly and reaching up for him. Mando scooped the little one up in his arms, and you couldn't help but smile at the sight.
-
From what you got from their conversation, the homing beacon was tracking the set of armor that Mando had found. It had been a dead end. Peli, though, had a lead for him.
You weren't really listening, as you were distracted by the fire. It was cooking a massive piece of meat, its tantalizing aroma wafting through the air, filling your senses. The steady flame danced in a mesmerizing rhythm, casting a warm glow around you.
Lost in your own thoughts, you let your gaze wander to the vast expanse of the night sky above. Countless stars twinkled and shimmered, a breathtaking view that seemed to hold endless possibilities. As you nestled closer to the comforting warmth of the artificial fire, a sense of tranquility washed over you, soothing the restlessness that had tugged at your heart.
Something stirred something within you, a blend of uncertainty and hope. You were unsure of what the future held, where your path would ultimately lead. The life of an archaeologist had always been one of constant movement, chasing the remnants of the past across the galaxy. But now, there was a yearning for something more.
In the crackling embers, you found yourself drawn to the enigmatic figure of the Mandalorian and the innocent child he protected. Their presence had intertwined with your own journey, weaving a tapestry of unexpected companionship and shared experiences. A flicker of affection warmed your chest, the knowledge that you cared for them, and they held a special place in your heart.
With a contented sigh, you leaned back slightly, allowing the noise of the fire and the twinkling stars above to guide your thoughts into a peaceful state of contemplation.

âthe average Jedi is very bad at staying under the radarâ factoid is statistically incorrect. Cal Kestis, who introduces himself by name to every person he meets and is incapable of not using his lightsaber for more than 10 minutes, is an outlier and should not be counted.

After returning to the ship, you registered Mando dropping his rifle, and carrying you to the room with his cot. It was spacious enough to accommodate a decent-sized bedspread, and the high ceiling allowed a small hammock to hang above it where the child would sleep.
Now, though, he was sealed away in his pod. Your mind was unable to process the events that had just transpired, but the term Jedi rolled around in the back of your mind. You were trying your best to keep it together, but the pain was almost too much to bear. Normally, youâd be grateful to be back on the ship, but it was only a small comfort compared to what you were surely about to endure.
The Mandalorian left you there on the bed for what seemed like an eternity. You heard his bootsteps as he climbed the rungs of the ladder, followed by the familiar sound of the ship's door closing and the vessel lifting off the ground.
Meanwhile, the sharp pain in your shoulder was unbearable, and it took all your strength to keep from passing out. The edges of your vision were hazy, and you felt sick to your stomach. For now, you were stuck alone with your incoherent thoughts.
After a while, the Mandalorian returned. You almost cried out in relief at just the sight of him.
âHelpâŚâ you groaned.
"How was this injury made?" he asked hurriedly as he inspected your shoulder. He touched just the wrong spot, and you clamped your eyes shut, squeaking as the pain pierced through you.
"He pulled my arm... sounded bad,â you managed to reply weakly.
Mando seemed to understand you, and maneuvered to your side. You barely registered him.
âThis is going to hurt,â he said, placing one hand to grip your elbow tightly and another lightly on the top of your shoulder. âBut it will be better soon.â
Without warning, he yanked your arm, causing you to cry out. You jerked away from him, tears starting to run down the sides of your temples. Your vision went black, but faded back to a dull haze as you made out the Mandalorian fixed to your side. But the pain didnât waver. Later, you would be able to reflect that in your movement, you only seemed to deter him from actually fixing the problem.
He said your name, and you looked towards his helmet with glossy eyes. You had assumed him mercilessness, but the gentle way he tried to draw your attention reminded you he was only trying to help.
âDo you trust me?â he asked, his voice surprisingly soft and reassuring.
At this point, you couldnât speak, but you mouthed a yes. He nodded, shifting his positioning. He moved to straddle your middle, pressing you down into the bed and making your stomach whirl. You tried to breathe, but it was getting harder to stay still.
With a sharp pull, he popped your shoulder back into its original place, and you let out a loud cry. The grinding sensation in your shoulder made you heave. This time, you weren't able to jerk away, and your world went back into place, leaving you with a throbbing shoulder. More liquid streamed out of your eyes, but this time at just the sense of relief.
You laid there for a few moments, taking in your full surroundings. Mando had moved off of you and sat perched to your side. His helmet was pointed in your direction, but you couldnât tell exactly where he was looking. You started to feel almost normal, and then the numbness started to wear off.
You were suddenly very aware of the ache in your shoulder, and an area just below your jaw on one side stinging. The hand on your good side raised to your head, inspecting the wound there. It wasnât bleeding anymore, but you felt dried blood that led down your neck to the top you were wearing.
It was almost as if your brain started to flicker back on, like a holocomputer. You felt panic rise up in your gut again, but realistically you knew you were safe.
âIs he okay?â The question popped in your mind suddenly, concern evident on your face. The Mandalorian nodded.
You started to sit up, putting your weight on your good arm. You hissed a little at the movement, but were grateful at how manageable it was compared to before.
âSlow down,â he ordered, placing a gloved hand on your stomach to push you back down again.
You huffed, but still not in any condition to argue. When he didnât move his hand, you placed your own on top.
Your breathing started to pick up, and everything at once started to come back to you in full force. How you were attacked. The pain. The child protecting you. How you failed at protecting him.
Deciding to do anything to distract yourself, you placed a hand on the Mandalorianâs knee. He stared at you, his eyes piercing into you even from behind the visor. Your hand trailed up his thigh, headed towards his groin. Instead of meeting it, he caught your wrist.
You gasped, surprised at the sudden movement. He didnât say anything, nor did he move. After a moment, you started to get restless.
âPleaseâŚâ you said quietly, swallowing the emotion bubbling in your throat.
His hand moved to your thigh, resting about midway down. You stared into his visor, daring him to go further. Something awakened in your core as he moved his way up. You let out a breath, and he stopped, inches away from where you wanted him. He squeezed your flesh there, making you stir. You were sure he could see your desperation on your face.
Mando slowly moved, rubbing at the inner flesh of your thigh. You held in a whine, rubbing your thighs together for more friction.
âStay still,â he said. You whimpered at his voice, feeling more arousal bloom in your lower belly.
He removed his fingers all together from your inner thigh, and resorted to undoing your belt and removing your holster. His hands pulled on your trousers, and you moved your legs up, planting your feet and bending them at the knee. You lifted your ass momentarily, and he was able to scrunch your bottoms around your lower thighs.
While you weren't naked, you felt exposed under his gaze. He could only see your bare legs, but it felt as though he could see right through you. Every inch of your skin prickled with awareness as his gaze lingered on you. He shifted his positioning, leaning in closer to you, and you couldn't help but feel a shiver run down your spine.
Mando removed his glove, and you saw his hand. It was rough and calloused, with his veins prominent as he flexed his fingers. On the back of his hand, you spied a few light freckles dotted around his tan skin. You had already deduced that he was human, but if you needed anymore evidence, this surely wouldâve been it.
He moved his hands towards your face. You felt his fingers at your lips, and opened them. They went in, and you almost gagged at their size. After taking a second to adjust, you closed your mouth around them and pushed your tongue upwards. Your mouth watered, and you began to suck on his fingers.
The Mandalorian groaned, and you reveled in the sound, deep and hoarse through the vocoder. You relished his fingers, lapping your tongue against them. After wetting them sufficiently, he removed them from your mouth.
Mando moved to sit on his knees, near your pelvis. Your pulse quickened at the implication of his movements. He pushed your underwear aside, and without warning, plunged the same two digits into you.
âFuck!â you exclaimed, your hands fisting the sheets.
You clenched around his fingers. They were so large that even just two made you feel satisfyingly full. At this point, your cheeks were aflame, and you avoided looking at him. Your stomach churned a little and anxiety made your chest icy, but you pushed it away to make room for the coming pleasure.
The pad of his thumb settled on your clit. With soft motions, he began a slow pace of pumping his fingers into you, and drawing delicious circles with his thumb. You moaned, moving your hand closest to him onto his leg, grasping the thigh-guard there. The cool metal felt good against your palm, as the rest of your body was starting to heat up.
Your eyes focused back on him. He was watching himself work intently, and the sight caused your heart to skip a beat. The way his muscles tensed and relaxed with each movement was captivating. The thought of touching him, of feeling the heat of his skin against yours, sent a thrill through your body.
Finally, he started to quicken his pace. At the same time, he curled his two fingers inside of you upwards with each thrust. You tried not to move, your first instinct to buck up your hips. You groaned, one hand clenching his leg harder and the other still lost somewhere in the bedding.
âSo wetâŚâ he trailed off, and you whimpered.
Your head nodded to the side, and you clamped your eyes shut. Your body shuddered with pleasure, and your breathing became uneven. The pad of his thumb pressed down harder on your bundle of nerves, and you shuddered. His lazy circles turned into competent motions that made your back arch off of the cot.
âShit, Mando!â you cried, and all of the muscles in your legs contracted.
You once again wished you could see him at this moment. Without the helmet, without the armor, just the person behind it. You longed to see his eyes, to know what he was thinking, feeling, behind that stoic expression. Maybe it was silly to dwell on these thoughts, but you couldn't help it. He had become such an important part of your life in such a short amount of time. You trusted him with your life, but there was still so much you didn't know about him. The thought made your heart ache.
The thought, though, soon vanished. The Mandalorianâs other, unoccupied, hand trailed up your stomach, and to your chest. He only left it firmly planted there for a second. In one swift move, he again shifted his body and placed your feet over his shoulder. Your legs were up in the air now, your calves sitting where his collar bone would be, and angled towards the ceiling. This gave him better access to keep up his pace between your legs.
It was becoming more difficult by the second to keep yourself still. His hand was rocking against you, building you towards orgasm brick by brick. Your heart beat fast and steady in your chest. Your moans crescendoed, and you surprised even yourself by the volume.
Your attention was fixated solely on him. He wasnât looking at you any longer, now entirely focused on getting you off. You even didnât care anymore how you looked, choosing to close your eyes once again.
The noises you were making raised in pitch as he kept his impossible pace, and your pleasure soared. You tightened around his fingers, arousal almost at its peak. Every muscle in your body was tense, you still trying (but failing) to follow his earlier directions and keep from moving.
In that moment it only took one thing to push you over the edge: the Mandalorian said your name in that low, steely voice of his. You were blinded by bliss as your orgasm tore through you, writhing and coming on his hand. A feeling of white hot euphoria spread through your torso to all of your limbs. Your hand gripped his armor so hard that it moved out of its rightful positioning.
His fingerâs were still in your pussy, drawing out the feeling. Quickly, the last sparks of pleasure were being replaced by oversensitive aftershocks.
As the moment came to a close, you were left feeling breathless and content. The room was small, and the cot barely fit the two of you. Mando pulled his fingers out of you, and laid your legs gently back on the sheets. You felt yourself ease some, your muscles relaxing. The pain in your shoulder returned to you, but it was manageable. Slowly, you fixed your underwear and pulled your trousers back up.
You shifted on the bed, trying to find a more comfortable position, but couldn't help start to feel a little panicked. He must have noticed your discomfort and asked if you were alright.
You nodded, but the feeling didn't go away. You started to feel like the small room was closing in on you. It wasn't just physical discomfort, but also an emotional one. You had let your guard down before, but now you felt vulnerable and exposed.
Mando gently placed a hand on your chest.
"You're okay," he said softly. "You're safe with me. I won't let anything happen to you."
He stayed like that with you for a while, and the both of you just listened to you breathe. You calmed down more, trying to move to peaceful state of mind.
Mando eventually got up from the cot and walked over to a small cabinet, retrieving a container of bacta. A few moments later, you heard water running. He walked back over to you, and poured some onto a cloth, gently pressing it against the wound on your neck. You winced at the sting but breathed through it. After all, it was nothing like the pain you experienced before.
"Sorry," he said, his voice laced with concern. You noticed he had righted his armor, and donned both gloves once again.
"It's alright," you replied, grateful for everything he had done. "Thank you for taking care of me."

It had been a few days, you guessed, since your argument with the Mandalorian. After all, you werenât used to space travel and found it a bit difficult to relate the passage of time to a schedule. Since then, though, he seemed to warm up to you.
You both spoke to each other more. As your only companion who could speak in actual sentences, you would get lonely otherwise. Although, you supposed, that wasnât the only reason.
While you tried to avoid bringing up anything that might be a sore subject for Mando (like his own past), he seemed to welcome you asking questions about his work. You even got him to tell you something as trivial as his favorite place heâd been.
As you flew through hyperspace that day, you had decided to ask him a question on a whim.
"What's your favorite planet youâve been to?"
He turned toward you, as if he was surprised by the sudden question. "My favorite planet?" he repeated, like he had never thought about it before.
"Yeah," you replied, grinning. "Everyone has a favorite place, don't they?"
He considered you for a moment. "I went to Dantooine once, for a job."
You chuckled. "Really?" You hadnât considered Dantooine to be anything special. Maybe you could convince him to take you there, one day.
He shrugged, looking almost sheepish, even with his helmet. "Doesn't really matter."
But you knew it did matter, at least a little. It was a small piece of information that you could use to understand him better. And the fact that he was willing to share it with you made you feel a bit closer to him.
You couldn't help but smile at yourself as you thought about how much he had changed around you. The hardened bounty hunter was still there, of course, but he had become something more. He was a protector, a friend, and someone you trusted.
Also, he actually seemed pretty interested in your work. You spent hours just speaking about different planets and their cultures. You liked telling him about yourself and your work, hoping it would encourage him to open up in the same way.
Your training had also continued. Your bruises began to heal, but fresh ones seemed to appear just as quickly. You had only become marginally better at the skills he was trying to teach you, but you supposed the effort you put in would come into use one day. It couldnât hurt, either.
When you stopped for fuel this time, you decided to try and get some air that wasnât just recycled through the shipâs filters. After readying yourself, you set the child down in his pod.
âHey, bud. You ready to eat some real food?â you asked him. Over this past month, the kid had grown on you. He couldnât quite form actual words really, but he seemed to understand you when you spoke.
He babbled in response, settling down in his seat. You smiled, patting him on the head gently and turning towards the door. Strapped on your belt was your blaster, for safety.
You stepped out of the ship and took a deep breath, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. You were on a remote planet, far away from any established settlements. The info on your datapad suggested that this place was commonly used as a fuel stop between certain parts of the outer rim, and Tatooine. As the ramp closed, you looked around, scanning the area.
The ground around you was rocky, but bleached white by a nearby sun. You studied the barren land as you made your way to the small outpost. The Mandalorian had stayed behind at the fuel stop. You craved a good meal, made by a person who was getting paid to do it. And you had credits to spend, too.
The air had a chill to it, despite most of this planet being covered in desert. You walked for a while, taking in the strange world. The childâs pram followed closely behind you.
As you approached the edge of a small town, the barren landscape slowly gave way to a cluster of buildings. You could make out a small market and a few people milling around. Something just didnât feel right, though.
Up ahead, you could see a group of people gathered around a street vendor. You tried telling yourself there wasnât anything to be worried about, but ultimately you couldnât shake the odd feeling. Your instincts were screaming at you to be cautious, and so you pulled out your blaster and stood protectively in front of the child's pod.
Suddenly, a large creature burst out of the wall before you, its eyes fixed on you and the child. The creature was massive, with hulking shoulders and razor-sharp claws that glinted menacingly in the bright light. Its eyes burned with a ferocity that sent shivers down your spine, and its teeth were bared in a feral snarl. It moved with an unnatural grace, its claws tearing into the ground as it charged towards you and the child, its growls filling the air.
You didn't hesitate, firing a shot at it, but it was too quick, darting to the side to avoid the blast. You fired again, but this time it was ready, knocking the blaster out of your hand with a swipe of its massive claw. The motion caused you to fall to the ground. The creature circled you, growling and snarling as you searched frantically for your weapon.
You had no time to think, no time to react. But the child did.
With a flick of his tiny wrist, the creature was lifted into the air, its body convulsing as the child exerted himself. You could see the effort etched on his face, but he held on. Finally, it fell to the ground, unconscious.
You looked at him with wide eyes, realizing he had protected you. You stood quickly, looking for your blaster. The kid was asleep now, and you quickly shut both the hardshell and clear lid to his pram.
You stood there frozen, eyes locked on the creature, wondering what to do next. You didnât have time to think about the implications of what just happened. You knew, though, you needed to get back to the ship. Before you could even take another breath, the sound of footsteps echoed down the deserted alleyway, and a group emerged into your view, their eyes fixed on the pram.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you realized what was happening. They saw what just took place. You took a step backwards, but it already was too late. They had already surrounded you, their weapons drawn.
One of them, a Palliduvan man, stepped forward, a smug grin on his pale face. "Hand it over, and we might let you walk away with your life," he said, his voice laced with venom.
You stood your ground, refusing to back down. "I won't let you take him," you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
"You don't have much of a choice, do you?" another one said behind you, as they closed in on you and the child.
In a split second, the air was filled with blaster fire, and you dove into the hole the creature had made a few moments prior. You rushed behind a nearby crate for cover, making sure the pod followed. Your lungs gasped for air as you tried to keep a clear head. Without your gun, how would you be able to fight them off? Surely, the Mandalorian would be here soon, but would you be able to wait that long?
They were starting to close in. You gritted your teeth, trying to think of a way out of this. Just then, you saw an opening in the wall nearby, big enough to squeeze through. You figured it was from the old ventilation system. The light from it filtered into the dusty room. When you were about to run for it, you turned to make sure the pod would follow. But, within a matter of seconds, it had disappeared.
You searched frantically for the child, calling out for him, but there was no response. The blaster fire hadnât ceased, and you knew you had to find him and get out of there. You were alone, with no weapons and no idea where to go.
You turned to see where the pram might have gone, but a man came around the corner. You ran for the wall, but just as you made it to the entrance, you were yanked backwards by a hand gripping your ankle. You jumped to your feet, into a fighting stance. Your chest went icy with fear, but out of the corner of your eye you spied a flash of shiny armor and one of the shooters falling to the ground.
As you got into the stance, you were able to make out your surroundings a bit better. You still stood behind the crates in the derelict building. An Iktotchi man stood in front of you, arms braced and ready to attack. You ducked as his arm swung towards your face, and tried to kick his foot out from underneath him.
He stumbled back, but reached towards his belt for a vibroblade.
The Iktotchi slashed the blade wildly, and you started backwards. You raised your arms to protect your face whilst trying to avoid his jabs. You braced yourself for the attack, heart racing as you dodged and weaved, trying to find an opening. Your mind raced, thinking of any way to get out of this situation. You spotted a nearby crate and kicked it towards the man, causing him to stumble and lose his balance.
But he mustâve had the same idea, as another crate fell on top of you. You groaned in pain as you got back to your feet, adrenaline pumping through your veins. You knew you had to keep fighting, no matter what.
You tried to think of a way of escape, as you could only keep avoiding him for so long. You made the decision to heave yourself to his side as an attempt to distract him from his swinging, and have a chance to get away. But, at the same time, he seemed to pick up on your deception again. He maneuvered behind you, and wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you uncomfortably against him. You tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but soon enough, there was a knife at your neck.
Before he could speak, you pushed off the ground and used the space created between you to kick backwards one foot into his groin. He yelped, dropping the blade but managing to grasp your arm. You felt your neck sting where the knife was, but your adrenaline was pumping so hard that it was easy to ignore. The man must have been using all of his strength to keep hold of you. You tried to tug away, but the Maker was unforgiving.
He used his boot to push you to the ground, still holding onto the crease of your elbow. The look on his face terrified you to your core. You screamed as your arm made a sickening pop. The pain was sharp, and spread from your shoulder to where he still gripped your arm. You knew something was off about it, though. Something about the way he pulled it was just wrong. You were rightfully distracted by this feeling.
As soon as the moment ended, he grabbed your waist and flipped you over onto your stomach. You cried out again, the pain shooting throughout. His shoe was on you again, and you felt the ridges of it digging into your spine.
Your new positioning allowed you to catch a glimpse of your blaster to your left. Without hesitating, you used your good arm to reach up and dig your fingernails into his exposed calf. This allowed just a moment of reprieve from his foot, and with all of your force, you rolled in the direction of the gun. You winced as your injury made contact with the floor.
In a swift movement, you grabbed the blaster and shot blindly at your target. The Iktotchi shrieked, and doubled over as your bolt had hit him square in the chest.
His blood pooled near him on the floor, and you scowled, turning away to take in your surroundings. You were slumped on the ground, but could see what was going on further beyond the large hole in the wall.
The Mandalorian ruthlessly fought off the final attacker. He turned, avoiding a blade, and then kicked his foot out, tripping the other man and using his own knife to subdue him with ease. You could hear Mando saying something, and then there was silence. You werenât sure whether they were too far away to understand, or if you were already surrendering to your injuries.
Your adrenaline faded, but the pain only increased.
It's as if your nerves had ignited into a fiery inferno, every millimeter of your shoulder throbbing and aching with a sharp, piercing intensity. Each breath you took sent waves of pain rippling through your body, making it hard to focus or even think clearly. The discomfort seemed to stretch on and on, an endless torment that refused to subside no matter how much you willed it to. And still, you had the feeling that something about it just wasnât right.
âMandoâŚâ you managed, but it only came out as a soft groan. Your vision began to darken around the edges.
You heard the dull thump of boots walking on rocky soil, and lolled your head to the side to see the source. Luckily, it was just the Mandalorian, and behind him followed the pram, with the lid closed. He was at your side at once, inspecting you for injuries.
âAre you hurt?â he asked, and even in your state, you could hear the concern behind his voice.
âMâshoulderâŚâ you croaked. âSomethings wrong.â You felt tears starting to well behind your eyes, but you attempted to blink them away.
The Mandalorianâs head turned up, and he looked around.
âCan you stand? We canât stay here,â he said, tilting his helmet back down towards you.
You nodded, or at least tried to, and he carefully placed an arm around your waist, helping you to your feet. It was a process, but once you were fully upright, he lifted you off of the ground. As he helped you up, you were acutely aware of his touch, the warmth of his body, the strength of his arms. You leaned into him, grateful for the support. With each movement, you felt a wave of dizziness wash over you, but you refused to give in to it.
He moved with a sense of urgency, but also a gentle care. He made his way out of the building, you in his arms. The glint of his helmet caught your eye, and you squinted against the blinding reflection. As he walked, you noticed a small smudge on the lower edge of his visor, grains of sand or dirt that had somehow managed to make its way there. In any other situation, you wouldâve smiled, and raised your hand to wipe it away.
You mustered all your strength to keep your eyes open, determined to take in every detail of your surroundings. The vast expanse of desert stretched out before you, the rock formations casting long shadows in the late afternoon sun. You could feel the heat radiating off of the Mandalorian, seeping into your bones.
As you approached the ship, the ramp slowly descended with a low rumble. It was a familiar sound, one that brought a sense of comfort and safety. You wondered what lay ahead for you, but for now, all that mattered was that you were back where you belonged.

Last nightâs encounter with the Mandalorian had left you a bit shaken, but also very frustrated. When you woke up the next morning, you werenât sure what to expect. But, he didnât say anything.
So, you got ready for the day, taking the child with you as you began to make yourself useful. You werenât sure what all your new job entailed, so you just began to tidy up the ship. The cargo hold needed some major reorganization, more than what you had time for today. Instead, you decided to work with instead of against the organized chaos for now, keeping an eye on the kid as you went.
After a few hours, you decided to take a break and feed him. The child cooed happily as you gave him his food, but he was soon finished.
The silence made you uneasy, and you fidgeted with your hands, unsure of what to do. You had been on the ship for a few cycles now, but you still felt like an outsider.
The Mandalorian was standing to your left, his attention focused solely on the gadget he was toying with. He hadn't said a word to you this morning, and you were beginning to wonder if he ever would.
The child, on the other hand, was wide awake and squirming in your lap. You smiled at him, tickling him gently. He gurgled happily, his big brown eyes fixed on yours.
You couldn't help but wonder what was going on in Mando's head. He had entrusted you with the care of his son, yet he seemed to be keeping you at arm's length since last night. You wanted to get to know him better, to understand him. But he was making it difficult for you.
âWhy donât you ever take the helmet off?â you said softly, fingers absentmindedly rubbing circles over the childâs ear. You knew it was a mistake as soon as you saw Mando visibly stiffen. He was frozen, unmoving. Part of you wanted to reach out to him, but another part of you said differently. You were afraid he would shatter under your touch.
The child made a noise in your arms, and you looked down at him. His eyes met yours, and both of you shifted your gazes back to the form standing in front of you.
The Mandalorian finally moved, turning around to face you. You wished you could see his face in order to gauge his reaction. The question had popped into your mind so innocently. If he now trusted you enough to look after his son, to be intimate with you, then naturally you would want to see his face.
He broke the silence. âThis is the Way,â he said sternly, walking past you towards the other side of the ship. You felt the air whish past you, and his cape grazed your arm as he moved. You turned, confusion evident on your face.
âWhat?â you turned your head to him, furrowing your eyebrows in confusion. He paused, and his visor pierced through you.
Youâd never heard that phrase before. You had tried to remain humble in your career, but you also knew when to exhibit your knowledge. While you werenât as well-versed as your previous professors on the subject, you could hold your own in academic circles. The child babbled, and you acknowledged him by patting his head gently.
You werenât going to say anything else. But then, your curiosity got the better of you. You cleared your throat, and the Mandalorian turned to look at you.
"What does that mean?" you asked, trying to keep your tone casual.
Mando hesitated before he spoke. "It's a Mandalorian creed," he finally said. "A way of life. We follow the Way to survive and protect our own."
You nodded slowly, understanding beginning to dawn on you. "So... taking off the helmet goes against the Way?"
"Yes," he confirmed. "To let one see my face means I would no longer be Mandalorian."
You couldn't imagine what it must be like to never take off your helmet in front of another. It seemed so restrictive, so suffocating. But at the same time, you tried to respect his culture and his beliefs.
"I see," you said softly. "Thank you for explaining it to me."
The Mandalorian nodded, and you could feel his eyes on you even though you couldn't see his face. He took a few steps toward you, removing the child from your arms and beginning back towards the ladder.
âWeâre almost there,â Mando said to him, and you watched endearingly at their interaction. He began up the ladder, and you smiled softly.
You watched him go, still thinking about the weight of his words. This was the Way. It wasn't just a phrase or a creed, it was a way of life for him. And you had just stumbled into a world that was so different from your own.
As you watched the Mandalorian climb up the ladder and disappear, you couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment. You had been so close to learning more about him, yet he had shut you down with only a little explanation. It wasn't the first time he had done that either.
You had always been fascinated by Mandalorian culture, studying it extensively during your academic years. However, your education had clearly never touched on this. You had never heard of whatever religious group that this Mandalorian belonged to. You tried to come up with another possible explanation, but your thoughts only went to the splinter groups of Mandalorians that used to dwell on Mandaloreâs moon, Concordia.
You wondered what else you didn't know about him. It was frustrating not being able to understand him fully, to be able to comprehend why he lived his life the way he did.
But then again, maybe that was part of the appeal. The mystery and intrigue surrounding him were what drew you in, like a moth to a flame.
You shook your head, trying to clear your thoughts. You couldn't afford to get too invested in someone who clearly didn't want to let you in. But the way his eyes had lingered on you before he left... maybe there was hope for a future conversation about his people. You figured the only way this would happen was if you were to initiate it again.
For now, you had a more pressing matter to attend to. With a deep breath, you climbed up the ladder and into the cockpit, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
-
The stop for fuel was brief. You couldnât shake the feeling that there was more to your earlier conversation than he was letting on. While Mando was fueling it, you didnât leave the ship, and he was back aboard after a few minutes. You had never heard of this planet, anyway.
You sat behind the pilotâs chair. Your mind briefly went to the events of last night that took place in that very seat, until your thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
âOnly a few more days in hyperspace until our destination. Weâll have one stop between to fuel up again.â You hadnât noticed the Mandalorian until now. He didnât bring the child up here with him.
You clasped your hands in your lap, and nodded to show that you understood. Wherever this destination is, itâs sure as hell the farthest possible place from the Mandalore system. If Mando noticed your uneasiness, he didnât say anything. You couldnât help but feel your emotions start to simmer.
After a few more minutes of nothing, you couldnât take it anymore. Maybe it was his general evasiveness, or even the fact that heâd barely said anything to you after how things were left the previous night, but something in you snapped.
"You're telling me that you'd rather live your life according to some code than experience the world around you?" you had asked, incredulous at his rigid adherence. The Mandalorian responded almost immediately.
"You don't understand," he replied, his voice clipped and defensive. "The code has kept me alive this long. It's the only way I know." He sat down in the pilotâs chair, but turned it so he was facing you.
"But you're missing out on so much," you countered, feeling frustrated with his stubbornness. You challenged him. "How can you truly experience life if you're always hiding behind that helmet and refusing to engage with others?"
"I don't have time for attachments," he shot back. "I have a mission to complete, and I can't afford to be held back by distractions."
The silence that came after was deafening as he turned the chair back around. You couldn't help but feel angry with him. You werenât even sure why you decided to pick a fight.
The ship rose into the air, and within seconds it was out of this worldâs atmosphere and into the never ending abyss of space. The planet was behind you, and the only light in the cockpit illuminated it dimly. Minutes ticked by, and the tension in the small room was becoming more and more suffocating.
Even though you sat there stewing for a bit, you couldn't help but admire the way the stars reflected in his helmet, making it look like a constellation all its own. For a moment, you forgot all about the argument and just sat there, taking in the beauty of the moment.
Then, it dawned on you. Heat rose up to your neck, and you felt a pang of guilt in your stomach. It almost surprised you how intolerant of his âWayâ you had been. If you wanted to learn more about his way of life, that sure was the wrong way to go about it.
Yeah, his words stung. But you were going to have to apologize.
Taking a deep breath, you spoke again. When you did, his head turned sideways. "Look, I'm sorry," you said, your voice softening. "I didn't mean to be so critical of it. It's just that, as an archaeologist, I've always been fascinated by different cultures and ways of life. And yours is something I've never encountered before."
The Mandalorian didn't reply, but you could feel his eye on you, even though you couldn't see his face behind the helmet. "I know it's not my place to judge," you continued. "And I don't want to disrespect your traditions. I just...I want to understand them better. And I went the wrong way about it." The words just spilled out, and you feared he wouldnât accept your apology. Anxiety riled your stomach, but you tried to keep your breathing even and your body still.
There was a long pause, and you thought for a moment that he wasn't going to say anything at all. But then he spoke, his voice surprisingly gentle. "I understand," he said. "But it's not easily explained.â
You nodded, feeling chastened. "I get that," you said. "And about the last thing, I-â
âNo,â he cut you off. âI shouldnât have said that.â
âOkay,â you said quietly, unsure of what to say next.
The Mandalorian nodded, and then turned back to the controls.
You felt a sense of relief wash over you. The tension in the cockpit had dissipated, and while there was still so much you still didn't understand about the Mandalorian, you knew that you might have the chance to learn more.
A silence settled over the two of you, but this time it was more comfortable. Mando eventually activated the hyperdrive, and the world outside of the ship went from darkness to being streaked with different shades of blue.
You watched for a while. Having never left your home planet until a few years ago, you didnât think you could ever get used to space travel. Especially traveling faster than the speed of light. And now, after accompanying a bounty hunter and his son on their ship, you only felt more out of place while aboard a ship.
It was so silent, actually, that you didnât realize you were beginning to fall asleep. You rested your cheek against the chair, and after just a few minutes, nodded off.
-
You awoke to being laid onto your cot by a pair of strong arms. When you opened your eyes, it was pitch black in your small room.
Then, you heard a small hiss, and the sound of something being placed on the floor.
You stirred, alerting the Mandalorian of your consciousness.
He didnât say anything, but by his movement you could tell he was somewhere to your left.
Your heart squeezed in your chest at the thought of him carrying you to bed. You kicked off your shoes, trying to get more comfortable.
A hand, you guessed, grazed over your cheek and to the side of your face. You noticed, though, it was ungloved. You soaked up the feeling of the pads of his fingers grazing over your skin.
You reached your hand up to feel his face, and he let you. His skin was smooth, until it met rough scruff that covered his jaw. You tried to map it out, remembering every detail, but you knew whatever picture you came up with in your mind would be inaccurate. Finally, your thumb grazed over his lips. You made another mental note of the mustache there, and then he leaned down to kiss you.
Your heart soared. His plush lips met yours without a sense of urgency or expectation, and you returned his slow movements with ease. It was gentle, and didnât go any further. You stayed like this for a few seconds, but the moment was soon over. An apology, you thought.
He pulled away, and you felt his breath on your face. You silently said your goodbye with a squeeze to his shoulder, and he sat up. You heard him shuffling, the hiss of his helmet again, and the door slid open.
The dim light from the entry room poured in, and you winced a little. The Mandalorian was standing now, facing away from your cot. His body projected a large shadow across the room.
âGoodnight,â he said, his voice filtering through the vocoder. In an instant, he was gone. The door shut, and you were left in the darkness, replaying the events of the last couple days in your mind.

Summary: Your attempt at an apology to the Mandalorian.
Warnings: light dirty talk? blowjob! very NSFW, 18+
Notes: Probably ooc mando. Is this as depraved as I think it is? Am VERY new to writing smut,,, feel free to let me know if this is cringe or not.
You dressed yourself quickly, getting ready to walk to the cockpit to apologize. Your heart had picked up with every pace, and you attempted to come up with an excuse on the way there. You couldnât believe the situation you put yourself in. Yes, it was entirely your fault. You had crossed a boundary, and he knew it, too. But, did you regret it?
You paused, standing still before the closed door. It took way longer than what would be deemed acceptable for you to say to yourself:Â Yes. Of course.
Well, maybe. You cursed yourself for being so foolish by being loud enough for him to hear you in the first place. No, there isnât any way out of this, you thought. How were you supposed to explain away you moaning his name while rubbing one out?
You almost just said screw it, your hand coming to press the door switch, but your chest went icy and you paused once again. Your hand froze, hovering just over the controls.
Fuck. You werenât afraid to admit your mistakes, but letâs just say meandering around social relationships was a novel concept to you. Without thinking, you pressed the switch, and decided to make it up as you went.
But when you walked through the sliding door, surprised that it opened in the first place, you caught a glimpse of something that really felt like new territory.
Maker, this wasnât how you expected to find him.
The Mandalorian was sitting in one of the two passenger seats towards the back of the small room. His right hand rested over his trousers, and gloved fingers squeezed the form of his hardening cock underneath.
This only lasted for a split second. Mando turned his head towards you, and you heard a grunt from under his helmet. His arms moved to the armrests, and he just stared at you, his visor pointed in your direction. You felt your fingernails digging into your hands at the sight, and your heart stopped.
When you finally felt it beat again, your breath quickened and you couldnât help but just stare back at the Mandalorian. You were stuck in place, still trying to process what youâd seen. For a moment, you wondered if it was real. But, when you pictured it in your mind again, you were sure that it had actually happened. That, and a glance towards his crotch and you could still see the evidence of his arousal.
Then, an idea popped in your mind. You could feel your pulse quicken again at the thought. The apology on your tongue had disappeared, as if it was never there.
You made your way to stand in front of a seated Mando. As gracefully as you could manage with your weakening legs, you lowered yourself to your knees in front of him. He tilted his head downward, and you looked back up at his visor once again.
The Mandalorian didnât move. Instead, he watched as you slowly raised your hands from your lap to settle above his knees. Your heart was practically beating out of your chest at this point. You gently squeezed his thighs, silently asking permission to continue.
He still didnât move. Instead, he just waited silently, watching you. Damn it.
You waited a beat, but finally gave in to the silent tension.
âCan I see?â you asked, cursing yourself for how naive you sounded. You almost dropped everything there, and the thought of running to the emergency hatch to fling yourself out of it crossed your mind. You had already decided that you preferred the cold expanse of space to seeing him reject you cruelly. But instead, he reached a hand into his pants, and pulled out his dick.
You blinked. Truly, you hadnât expected that to work.
He watched you as you took a moment to study it. His skin was a deep olive color, but the thick, round head was flushed and pink. You couldnât help but stare at the mere size of his length; you were sure it was bigger than any others youâd seen, by a large margin. You tucked this information away in your brain to linger over later. A drop of precum beaded at the tip, and your cheeks flushed at the sight.
Glancing back at his helmet, you scooted closer to him until your chest pressed up against his legs. A grunt escaped from him, almost too quiet for the vocoder to pick up. He finally moved once more, leaning forward, and then moved his hand to settle on your jaw. His thumb rested on your bottom lip. When you opened your mouth slightly, he took this as an invitation to push his finger into your mouth. You tasted the rich leather of his glove.
Your tongue welcomed his thumb, and you gave it a gentle suck before he pressed it down firmly. For the first time, he spoke.
âYou want to taste it, donât you?â
You nearly let out a whimper at his voice, and your knees quivered. It was somehow deeper than usual, with more darkness filtering through. Your thighs subconsciously rubbed together to try and gain some friction. Your chest swelled, and you paused. Any expectations you had for this moment had disappeared. Your experience with this kind of power dynamic was next to nothing, but you found yourself enjoying it already. Really, you didnât think youâd get this far when you made a move on him in the first place.
With his finger still in your mouth, you tried to nod your head a few times. He sat back further into the chair as he removed his hand from your face, and shifted his thighs to make room for you. You swallowed, already missing his touch. Your shame melted away as you shifted forward, positioning yourself in between his legs.
Taking his member into your hand, you lowered your mouth towards the head and gave it a small lick. It tasted salty, and a little like sweat. The Mandalorian made a noise, unintelligible, but it spurred you on. Your mouth salivated at what was to come. You positioned your face over him, and finally took the head completely into your mouth.
He groaned, and you relished the noise. You wished then that he would remove his helmet, even just so you could hear his moans unfiltered. Working your tongue around the tip, you felt him twitch under you. No, you decided it was best not to tease. That could come later.
Creating a suction with your lips, you began to take more of him. Your fingers gripped his length a little harder, and started stroking in time to meet your mouth. He was too big to take entirely, after all.
Your eyes met his visor once again, a silent apology on your face for your ineptitude. He either didnât seem to notice, or care. You kept this rhythm for a while, and clung onto every noise he was making. The heat between your legs throbbed, even as you tried to ignore it.
He watched as you bobbed your head, swallowing around him and taking him as deep as your throat would allow. Suddenly, both of his hands were cradling your head, and the pads of his fingers dug into your skin. You heard his breathing, louder now, filtering through the mask.
âYou look so pretty like this,â he muttered, and you moaned around him. You clenched, the warmth in your belly getting harder and harder to ignore.
You could feel the heat radiating from him. Through his gloves gripping you, or to your elbows perched on his thighs, he seemed to emit a power that captivated you. Even then, though, you could tell he was reigning in something within himself. It only added fuel to the fire that was your arousal, and the want for him to do something about it.
A gargled whine escaped you as you felt him grip your skull harder, and he began to move your head at his will. You didnât mind the help, but had to keep yourself from gagging as he pushed your mouth farther onto his length with each thrust. You tried to keep swallowing around him, but you werenât sure how long you could keep up with his pace. You were just about to tap out when you heard him speak again.
âIâm goin- fuck, meshâla, where?â he managed, and you understood immediately. You skimmed over the foreign word in your brain unconsciously, but decided it was just something youâd have to reflect on later.
You let off of Mando, sitting back enough to where your heels pressed into your ass, but close enough so he still had access to your face. Choosing to spare him of the mess, you closed your eyes and opened your jaw, letting your tongue rest slightly on your bottom lip.
Your mind went briefly to how pathetic you probably looked right now: in your night clothes, knelt in front of him, the pitiful face you were making, with drool dribbling down your chin and ready to accept his seed in your mouth. You shoved it out of your head, choosing instead to think of anything else.
Yes, there was no going back now. You had crossed a line before, but this had completely annihilated it. Sucking the Mandalorianâs dick was sure to have consequences you couldnât dream of. Dwelling on this wasnât much better, though, so your mind went blank as he finished.
You felt the ropes of his cum hit mostly your mouth, but the rest landing elsewhere on your face. You werenât keen on what to do now, choosing to swallow as the safest option. It tasted a little bitter, but mostly lightly tangy. Your eyes fluttered open, and you watched as he jerked himself to completion. His gloved hand gripped his cock harshly, squeezing and tugging until his orgasm finished. You sat there in awe until he stilled, and ultimately tucked himself away again into his trousers. You hadnât realized you were staring, and resolved to cleaning the rest off of your face, and wiping the excess off on the bottom of your pants.
Both of you sat there, neither looking at the other for a decent period of time. The air between you felt heavy, as though it was almost choking you. The silence that filled the small space of the cockpit of the Razorcrest felt suffocating. The arousal in you had resided to just a dull thrum in your veins as everything came back to you.
Your head began to race, desperate to come up with something to say to break the tension. But every thought that came to mind melted away before you could get up the courage to say it. You fidgeted, and shifted uncomfortably. Your muscles still ached from your earlier training.
When you looked up at him once again, it was difficult to tell what he was thinking. From your time with the Mandalorian, you had learned just how unreadable he was. But now, it was almost maddening.
He must have had enough of your staring, because he shifted a hand to rest on your shoulder. You took this as your chance to speak.
âListenâŚâ you trailed off, unsure of where to go next. Mando didnât move, and kept his gaze fixated on you.
You cracked a little under the pressure, and planted your palms on the durasteel floor. You stood, and made your way to the other passenger seat beside him. After a beat, you finally figured out what you wanted to say.
âIâm sorry, I shouldnât have-â you were cut off.
âNo, donât,â the Mandalorian began. âI shouldnât have invaded your space.â
You were going to interject, but decided to leave it be. You took a deep breath, your fingers curling around the edges of the seat to still yourself. A silence settled between you two. Before you could say anything again, the consoles at the front of the room started beeping. You saw the telltale lights flashing, meaning you were coming out of hyperspace for one reason or another.
The Mandalorian stood, taking his proper seat at the pilotâs chair. He started flipping switches, in a specific order, and the ship silenced. You werenât sure what had happened, but the ship slowed. You figured you would learn soon enough, though, as you had already learned so much about piloting.
With a cough, you excused yourself out of the cockpit and back to your room. You peeled off your outer layers, throwing them into the bag with your other clothes that needed to be washed.
From pure exhaustion, as soon as you slumped down onto your cot, you were already falling asleep.

Chapter 4
Through the Stars
ao3
Summary: You need training before you can protect the kid alone.
Warnings: mentioned hitting/punching while practicing, and masturbation. NSFW sexual content! Please be advised, 18+!
Notes: 18+, NSFW As a reminder, reader is gender neutral but has female anatomy. Sorry about the break. A lot of shit has been going down in my personal life. Also, Iâve never written any type of NSFW content before. Sometimes I feel like my writing is a bit too, like, punctual⌠and not descriptive enough. I hope itâs alright! Let me know what you think.
It had only been a few hours since you decided to join the Mandalorian on a more permanent basis. He had shown you where you could put your equipment in the cargo hold, and then directed you up the ladder to a small room behind the cockpit. It separated the generator room farther in, and the ladder entry area. You guessed this room was originally meant to be used as additional storage, but it was big enough for your cot and personal belongings, so you didnât mind.
After getting your things settled, you headed back over to the cockpit, and settled in one of the two seats behind the pilotâs chair. Currently traveling sub-light, you were amazed at how dark the world outside the ship was. Tiny white flecks broke up the darkness, the only indication the ship was moving a nearby silver moon that shone softly in the distance.
"This is incredible," you said, awed by the view. On the few ships youâd been on, you were usually only allowed to sit in the cargo hold.
The Mandalorian didnât acknowledge you at first, his attention on the controls in front of him. You went back to looking out the window, until he broke the silence a few minutes later.
âWe'll need to switch soon, I need to do some flight checks,â he stated. âItâs been weeks since the last jump to hyperspace.â
Your eyes widened in surprise. "I donât know how to fly a ship," you said, worriedly. Honestly, the few skills you had picked up outside of the training center were few and far between. You could get by in a few other languages outside of standard, but you had no experience in this field. Being from Corellia, naturally you learned to swim and fish as a youngling, but mostly you were just a worker in your familyâs market stall until you saved up enough credits for school.
He glanced in your direction, and you could feel his eyes boring into you from under his helmet. "You didn't tell me that before we left."
"I didn't think it was important," you said, and your cheeks felt warm from his stare. You avoided his visor, turning your head away to once again take in the view.
Mando let out a sigh, his gaze returning to the controls. "I'll give you a crash course in piloting. You need to know the basics in case of an emergency."
You nodded, and watched the Mandalorian as he explained the controls to you. If there was a time to take notes, you thought, now would be it.
It seemed easier than you wouldâve originally thought. The computers within the ship would take the bulk of the load, and you would just need to know how to manually maneuver the thrusters and reroute power to one engine over the other in case of an emergency. He had said it would be a process to learn everything, but that this was all you needed to know for now.
All of your confidence left you, though, as he stood and motioned for you to sit in his seat.
âNo, IâIâm not ready yet. What if I screw it up?â you stammered, shaking your head. How did he expect you to succeed after a 5 minute conversation on how to operate a pre-imperial assault ship? Not that it wouldâve really helped, but at least some of the newer ships youâd seen were a little less bulky and a little more familiar.
"You won't know until you try. Besides, it's not like we have a lot of options right now,â he stated.
You finally agreed, cursing yourself for giving in so easily. Something about the Mandalorian made your resistance melt away. Before you could let the thought linger, you stood, making your way to the pilotâs chair.
âIf I crash your ship, the only person to blame is yourself,â you said, and raised your hands to rest lightly on the controls.
âIf you manage to crash into the only thing within distance-â he pointed at the small moon to your right, âI will take full responsibility.â He huffed, and you smirked back at him in response.
You took a deep breath and began to follow his instructions as he gave them to you, feeling a mix of excitement and fear as the ship slowly started to move.
Mando reached over, flicking a few switches. Most notably, you noticed he had switched off the auto pilot. As you took over the controls, the ship lurched to one side. You immediately let off the thruster controls, feeling a jolt of ice in your chest as you gripped the steer until your knuckles turned white.
He seemed to notice your anxiety. "You're doing fine," he said. "Just take it slow."
You took a deep breath and nodded, trying to stabilize your arms as you engaged the thrusters once again.
"I'm not so sure about that," you said, gritting your teeth as you tried to right the ship. "This is harder than it looks."
He chuckled, and you took delight in the noise as it came through his helmet. "I know. But you'll get the hang of it. Just keep practicing."
After a while of guiding the ship in different directions, he seemed to be satisfied. You werenât so sure this approach had taught you much about piloting, but you also werenât about to say anything, either. He took over once again, and you were happy for the break.
Your chest ached with relief, and you went down to the hull to eat and use the refresher. You had already said goodnight to the kid, as he fussed with the Mandalorian about going to sleep a few hours prior. He had put the kid to bed in the hammock above his cot, and you remembered smiling at the fact that they shared the space. Turning away, you decided to try to get some sleep yourself, climbing the ladder back up to your makeshift room.

After the Mandalorian learned of your gap in knowledge in piloting, he took it upon himself to get a full workup of your skills. Being more the intellectual type, you knew he would probably be disappointed with your relevant job experience. You decided to leave out âconflict resolutionâ on the list, seeing as the only conflict youâd ever been in was when you found out someone had gone through your belongings at the training center.
Grandfather mightâve taught you how to aim a blaster, but that was the extent of your knowledge that would apply to protecting the child. So, the Mandalorian insisted on training you to better care for the child.
Your shooting skills needed some fine tuning. You spent all of yesterday practicing, with your own gun, and some of his. He showed you how to disassemble and clean your blaster, something youâd never done before. You were nowhere near as good as the Mandalorian, of course, but near the end of the day, you got an approving nod.
Today, though, you had learned you were terrible at hand-to-hand combat. You really were trying to learn how to defend yourself, but when you ended up on the floor of the ship after every failure, it was hard to keep going. Instead, he had decided to try teaching you offense, and you were happy for the break. Your shoulder ached as you readied yourself.
"Keep your feet shoulder-width apart," Mando instructed as he demonstrated the proper stance. "You want to have a good base, so you don't lose your balance."
You followed his lead and shifted your weight to your back foot, keeping your front foot pointed forward. "Like this?" you asked, glancing up at him.
He nodded. "Now, let's work on strikes. You want to aim for the soft spots - the nose, the throat, the groin. You canât hurt me, so donât hold back.â
You practiced a few punches before actually hitting him, trying to mimic his form. The child watched silently from the pod, chewing on something. Finally, you moved to stand in front of him. At the beginning of practice, he had removed all of his armor except his helmet. Now, you could see the shape of his body more clearly. You adjusted your stance as he told you before, and raised your fists. After a second, you pulled your arm back, and brought it forward with all of your might. It connected with his open hand, as he blocked you from hitting his chest.
âGood. You were fast, but you need to use the force of your body behind your fist, not just the muscles in your shoulder,â he stated. You huffed, readying yourself again.
It went back and forth like that for a while. You would try to hit him, and then he would explain how to improve yourself for the next time. After he was satisfied you could throw a punch, he said he wanted to try working on your defense again.
You squinted your eyes. âIt's like you enjoy covering me in bruises.â
He laughed behind the helmet, an unfamiliar noise. You jokingly sneered back at him.
Mando moved on quickly, attempting to teach you some grappling techniques. "If someone tries to get you on the ground, you need to know how to defend yourself," he explained. You sighed, nodding in response.
He then taught you how to escape from various holds and how to take down an opponent. You felt you learned a lot more this way, by the Mandalorian explaining it to you, rather than by trial and error.
When you actually tried to defend yourself this time, you were almost successful. After all, it was still him shoving you to the ground, and he wasnât going to let up. You raised your right forearm, successfully blocking his fist, but failed to consider that his other hand was by your middle. He pushed his knuckles into your ribcage, knocking you off balance once again. You flopped to the ground gracelessly. This time, though, when you went to stand, your leg gave out under you.
Instead of meeting the durasteel floor, you were caught by a pair of strong arms. Instinctively, you grabbed the cloth on his chest, steadying yourself. You could feel the firm muscle underneath, even through his tunic.
After only a second, you let go, taking a few steps back. âThanks, â you muttered, brushing off your knees. Your heart was racing from being in contact with him in a different context, even one so innocent as this. So now he could stop you from falling? He didnât seem to care before, when he was the one forcing you to the ground.
After several more hours of training, the Mandalorian took a break and handed you a container of water. "You're doing well," he said, giving you a nod of approval. "You're a quick learner."
You smiled, feeling a sense of pride in yourself. "Thanks for being such a good teacher," you said. You were sure you would regret it tomorrow, when you would really face the consequences of training all day. He would have to watch his back after all the bruises he left on your rib cage.
He chuckled, and you smiled again at the noise. "Don't thank me yet. We still have a lot of training to do."
You already felt more confident in your abilities. Being overly exhausted, you wanted to try and get some sleep. Saying goodnight to the child, you followed the Mandalorian up the ladder. He went right, to the cockpit, and you turned the other way, heading straight to your cot.
-
After tossing and turning for what felt like a few cycles, you decided to head to the refresher. You grabbed some soap and a clean set of clothes from your bag, and made your way to the lower level of the ship. The kid seemed to be sleeping behind the closed door to the cot, and you didnât see a glimpse of the Mandalorian anywhere. You entered the privy, pressing the controls so the door locked behind you.
You werenât sure how long you spent there, but you enjoyed the feeling of the hot water running over your bruised body. Long after you had washed up, the water automatically shut off. You sighed. Reluctantly, you used the dryer, and got dressed in the night clothes you had brought with you.
The climb back up seemed to hurt more than the first time. You made your way to your bed again, putting the dirty clothes in a different bag and layed down once again.
After everything, you still could not fall asleep. You werenât sure if it was because the ache from the bruises had started to set in, or because your brain was spinning from the vast amount of information it had soaked up in the past few days, but you were just too pent up to sleep. You resolved to trying an old trick you used to use when you really needed to doze off.
Your thoughts drifted to the Mandalorian. You wondered what he looked like underneath his baselayers. When you touched him today, you felt the firm expanse of his chest. When he took off his beskar this morning, you could better see his muscled frame. You felt a spark of warmth in your belly when you imagined his strong arms catching you again.
Was this okay? He was technically your boss. You shuddered at the thought of him knowing you were thinking of him like this.
Then again, how would he ever know? Your brain felt a little cloudy from how tired you were. What was the worst that could happen? You settled on seeing where it would go, anyway.
It had been a while since youâd found yourself in this predicament. Usually when you were falling asleep in your tent at night, you felt too vulnerable. But now, safely tucked away in your own space on the ship, you decided to touch yourself for the first time in weeks.
You reached below the band of your trousers, and your eyes fluttered shut as you touched the waistband of your panties. Letting out a sigh, your fingers lightly grazed over your clit. Your fingers made small circles, feeling the warmth in your abdomen grow.
You pictured Mando beside you, lightly grazing his gloved fingers over your chest. Your whole body started to tingle as you visualized his hand instead of your own brushing down your stomach, and going below-
Nope. No. Were you really going to do this? He was your trainer, your boss, and hopefully, your friend. Knowing yourself, you were sure it would change the way you thought about him. He would be more than that to you. You were aware of the possibility of becoming infatuated with him. The risks. Imagining him in this way would solidify the already growing warmth you associated with the Mandalorian in your brain. Were you sure you wanted to cross this line, even in private?
Yes, you decided. You were.
The realization was both thrilling and terrifying. You hadnât felt like this in a long time.
You slid your trousers and underwear down to your ankles, kicking them off. Your eyes shut once again, and you wished your hands were replaced by his.
You imagined the Mandalorian sat between your legs, gently gripping your thighs and rubbing them in small circles. Slowly, they lead inwards towards your folds, and you caught a moan in your throat. You were going to have to reign it in, as you werenât sure how soundproof the walls of the ship were.
Two fingers pushed into your core, while the other hand worked over your clit. You could almost feel the leather worked inside of you, as if he were there. The digits in of you pushed upwards towards the sweet spot there. You audibly gasped, your lungs filling with cool air as you began to feel sweat beading on the back of your neck.
The other hand worked the bundle of nerves, and you could feel the heat in your abdomen rise in intensity. His skilled hands were adept for combat and blasters, so you envisioned them to be strong and able to meet your needs physically. You were practically writhing now, getting into a rhythm that you didnât want to stop. Your breathing picked up, and you clenched as you thought about the Mandalorianâs voice, deep and gravelly through the vocoder, telling you to come.
The pace on your clit quickened, and the hand there flattened so multiple digits were working it. Your breath quickened as the string representing your pleasure frayed more, until your nerves gave in, and your bud throbbed as you hit your peak.
For a moment, a white-hot feeling blinded you, and you felt yourself groan. You kept a steady pace with your fingers, drawing out the pleasure.
âMandoâŚâ you moaned, feeling your orgasm finish. You continued rubbing and pushing your digits upwards until you felt the last sparks of your climax die out. You let out a breath you didnât realize you were holding, and your heartbeat was fast in your chest.
Not even a moment later, the sliding door of your small room opened. Nearly shrieking, you tried to immediately curl in on yourself to protect whoever the intruder was from seeing the two fingers still inside of you and the other hand resting on the mound of your pussy.
You only saw a flash of the person who had opened the door, but it was obviously the Mandalorian.
Your lungs dared to breathe, and you froze as he disappeared from your sight. You felt so stupid. Why did you have to moan his name? Why couldnât you just be a normal person, and imagine someone who youâd never met?
The door had closed just as fast as it opened, but you knew he had seen you, naked and exposed.
No, you wouldnât be falling asleep anytime soon.
