“KIT WALKER.” Ben says as he approaches the gas station. It had been late, obviously way past his bedtime, but he had managed to sneak out of his house through his bedroom window just so he could throw eggs at the neighbors houses with his friends —— then he’d sneak away from them just so he could say hi to Kit. the only person Ben actually thought was cool around here in this boring town and who actually put up with him. To his surprise. He had expected Kit to kick him to the curb like most people did, but they worked together so Ben hoped that wouldn’t happen. “If you see my dad tomorrow, don’t tell him you saw me out here alright? —— I snuck out with some of the guys earlier and egged people’s houses. I also ALMOST got into a fight…it was crazy man.” He leans against one of the cars now. “Anyways I didn’t come by to brag about me bein’ some immature eighteen year old, I swear…do you wanna hangout?”

The time for closing up shop was almost there. He hadn’t seen a car in need of its gas being pumped for a good half hour. Kit was seated at the desk working on filling out some paperwork, when he heard the sound of footsteps coming from the front of the garage. His back was turned as he placed the sheets inside of the cabinet, calling out loudly over his shoulder, ❛ We’re closing in ten! ❜ Not to be rude, but as a heads up. Then Kit swiveled around in his chair, preparing to climb to his feet --- only to be greeted by the sight of a familiar face coming toward him. ❛ Christ, Ben! It’s late. ❜ He kicked back, watching as he came to a stop and leaned against one of the automobiles he was working on. ❛ I’m not gonna rat you out, but I can’t lie. I don’t think you should be here. You know I’m going to flip the sign that says we’re closed soon? Why didn’t you swing by earlier? ❜ he asked. Kit didn’t mind the company, but he wasn’t sure about hanging around. It was more likely he would have to soon drive Ben home. ❛ Jeez, who did you almost get into a fight with? ❜
