Herschel Gadzooks (Goblin Alchemist), previously the ringmaster of Gadzooks' Grand Galloping Circus, which has since burned to the ground in a mysterious inferno shortly after the talent began to unionize. Being a showman, Herschel has a knack for speechcraft and persuasion. He can easily turn the mundane into the extraordinary, and commands attention even at his diminutive size (the flashy clothes help). Some might call him a liar and a cheat, but that's showbiz babey! Herschel's tools of the trade, in and out of the ring, are explosives and incendiary devices. Smoke bombs to mystify audiences and evade foes, firebombs to thrill onlookers and incinerate creatures, timed explosions to train gymnasts and clear debris, and so on. He typically speaks in a slow, breathy buzz reminiscent of a certain Hungarian classic actor, but during periods of excitability can become quite loud, quick-tongued, and stuttered. He's generally well-spoken and has a large vocabulary, useful for colourful descriptions and insults. He's not very forthcoming, and can talk circles around any information he wishes to keep under wraps. He carefully chooses hints and expressions that reveal just enough to keep his listeners engaged and wondering. That's how you maintain an audience, after all.
