i.e. Papi hires an animal handler, and Popee takes it as a personal challenge

(takes place in ye old texas desert)

Weeks after standing on the grand stage, bachelors in Animal conservation and Veterinary Technology in hand, you are utterly jobless. Apparently trying to find work for your career path in a city of just a little over 300 people, Dell city, was like waiting in bread lines. Everything good was gone just before your turn.

Lying back, legs laid out, on your wide soft cushion couch with a laptop in front of you, aimlessly clicking on random apps just to stare momentarily and click off, the tv lights up the dimly lit living room of your apartment as it plays a movie you've seen a few times already. Everything's been feeling pretty slow and hopeless, the reality of graduating early and no one wanting an inexperienced teen to take care of animals is setting in. A crappy, leaky apartment that you've been living in since birth, and a slowly drying up bank account. You feel sick. The laptop half shut now sitting on the, too low, coffee table, you turn to your side to stare at the tv and slowly pull a blanket further and further up till just your nose and eyes peak out. You don't care to blink to wet your eyes from being dried out by the fluorescent tv light, its only when you hear a ping from your laptop that your eyes flutter and look to the noise. You sigh deep, trying not to let yourself get excited.

"that could be anything.."

Underwhelming words replaying in your head, reluctant hands grabbing the laptop to place it on your lap as you turn to lie on your back again. A headache inducing light makes you shut your eyes before recollecting your vision and looking at the notification inbox.

You shoot up, re-re-re-reading the email over and over. It's all too good to be true, Housing, Meals, partially fair pay. Who cares if its on circus grounds, animals are animals and thats all you can ask for. A job actually entailing animal care, no assistant whose job is reduced to errands, or coffee runs.

It sounds like they're pretty desperate for workers, the email bluntly stating there will be little to no help with the animals due to a worker shortage crisis. Selfishly? It feels pretty fucking awesome being their only hope of still having animals by the end of the week. You calm yourself down before writing up an email acceptance email, hunched over and unblinking as you type as carefully as possible as to not sound too desperate nor too excited.

You giddily rise up and start getting properly ready for bed in hopes of having a more productive day in the morning, your guardian will drive you up to the circus grounds and help you set up. The contract is set up for a year, rather lengthy but with their desperate need for more staff they need some insurance you wont change your mind...oh well !
