I’m totally a real alien, I would never lie to you…
Hello! You may refer to me as the alien, if you must refer to me at all. Asks are currently off…that might change at some point. I kind of forget about that tbh.
I reblog according to my whims, it varies depending on what I’m currently into…there’s a lot of Gintama right now, but I’ll always come back to HxH. Other interests of mine include: trees, birds, cats, fantastical beasts of all sorts, art, writing, books…I’ll cut myself off there. The world is so interesting yay <3.
If you’d like to check out some of my writing, I’m on ao3 as 872chickensinatrenchcoat, and when I post them here it’s tagged #my writing. I love platonic relationships I love female characters I love gay people…it’s my goal to write more fics focused on women. Side note, but if you unironically say ‘hetslop’, I do not fuck with you. Good dynamic is good dynamic.
Politics: not what this blog is about, though I do reblog when something comes across my feed and I feel compelled to share it or save it for later. Rather than try to list out every identity, I’ll just say that I think everyone, regardless of their identity, deserves to be treated like a fucking human being—even those of us who do not identify as such. There’s no group of people which is inherently bad*, nobody is born wrong, and everyone deserves to live a good life.
(*obviously I am not referring to fucking cops or billionaires or whatever.)
My statement on the “ship discourse”: who has the energy to care about that. Go outside and talk to someone. Touch grass, even.
I don’t really care if minors follow me, it’s not like I post anything sexual on here…I’m the kind of asexual who doesn’t find that interesting. At most I’ll reblog something mildly suggestive.
What else…I think ellipses are a fun and underrated punctuation mark. I’ll never use AI to write or edit or research my fics, because fuck that, I have a brain and I like to use it. I swear a lot and I’ll never stop <3 and I never know when to end things either.

We need more women characters who are Male Protagonists. You know. Slightly haggard. She's splashing cold water on her face and gripping the edge of the sink staring in the mirror for a minute. She's coping badly with her deadwife
I disagree. We need more feminine protagonists who are sweet and demure while carrying stress and grief with quiet dignity. Being a female protagonist does not mean you have to be a man. Be a woman in the best way.
Taissa Turner (Yellowjackets) vs. Korra (Avatar: The Legend of Korra)
Taissa Turner
Korra
Remaining time: 3 days 20 hours
Propaganda below the cut:
Taissa Turner:
taissa is not necessarily hated but more ignored. as the only Black main character, she tends to get way less attention than the others. if she does get attention, it's mostly about her relationship with her (white) girlfriend van without any serious exploration of her character. though there are some works including her on ao3, it's mostly her and her gf being a background couple without any further thought to it. if you look through the top posts on the yellowjackets fanart tag, it takes forever until sth about her pops up (mostly her and her gf again). i actually really like her relationship, but it feels like people only care about taissa in that setting. and again, she is a main character with tons of interesting scenes and a lot of complexity that rarely gets discussed. she also has a lot of very interesting dynamics with the other characters and even though the yellowjackets fandom is big on multishipping (and shipping in general) taissa is rarely included in that. she and her canon gf also get way less attention than many of the other pairings (even though they are THE canon lesbians of the show). later on taissa has a wife who is Black btw and pretty much completely ignored by the fandom.. the show is definitely partly to blame for that, since her wife kinda falls into the disposable Black gf trope and the writers generally fumbled tai's story in parts. however, she's still a very intriguing character and other characters with potentially worse writing still get a lot of love.
(there are also some instances of her being described as bitchy, too mean or egocentrical when that's literally not true at all. but i can't speak to much on that bc i prefer not to engage with this and i also think it's not a major part of the fandom that sees her that way.)
tai is the heart of the show!! she takes initiative, she moves the plot forward and she gets the job done (the giver was literally written about her… like she is doing the shit the other characters don't want to do, she's a literal self described handy lesbian!! also imo a character that truely understands the relevance of community, always sticking up for others when necessary regardless of sympathy etc)
she cares so deeply about the people around her and goes to great lengths to support them
some examples:
1. offered to give another character an abortion, so she doesn't have to do it on her own (mind you, they weren't even close or anything atp)
2. lead a mission to get rescue to get her help (they're stranded in the wilderness) for which she literally risked her own life
3. supported said character through the entirety of an incredibly traumatic birth
4. paid for another characters rehab several times without telling anyone or expecting anything in return
5. killed a wolf for her gf
6. joined a cult for her gf
yellowjackets is also a show that heavily plays with the question of "is the supernatural real or is there are psychological explanation for all that?" and tai is one of two characters who are really at the center of this question due to her having some form of alternate personality which is super interesting imo
like this other personality stems from her being deeply repressed and never allowing herself to be truely seen. she constantly puts on a mask and she kinda doesn't deal with her problems at all. like she's carrying complex religious trauma from her childhood into her adulthood plus all the surival horror trauma she never deals with… idk i love her so much, i think she's deeply interesting and i wish people would talk about her more
she is an incredibly interesting character. she's one of the biggest deniers of any supernatural influences on their situation but at the same time the most overtly connected to the mystical power of the wilderness. she refuses to acknowledge her trauma to the point of destroying her family and all her dreams. she is obssessed with control while actively losing control over her own body due to sleepwalking/her other personality just taking over basically at random. this leads her to commiting cannibalism against her will, beheading her dog, writing threats on her own front door etc. however, her reaction to finding out about this is basically just to drink 20 cups of coffee and deny herself any sleep, which i think is hilarious and obviously doesn't work.
she is a very unhealthy, complex and at the same time deeply intelligent and empathetic character that depsite all her layers is often just ignored by the fandom - even though she's also a canon lesbian that literally ate her gf's heart in a fandom that supposedly loves "toxic yuri". people actually claimed that the show was queerbaiting because their favorite white queership wasn't confirmed, meanwhile taissa has been a canon lesbian in two incredibly interesting relationships since day one!
Korra:
Fandom picked her apart, called her a b*tch, blamed her for every bad thing that happened TO HER in the plot, disliked that she's loud, disliked that she's strong, disliked that she's confident in her strength, disliked that she's not like their beloved boy Aang. It's been years and you still can't sneeze in this fandom without something starting to yell that Korra is the worst Avatar ever.
She is so so strong. She did her best. She faced down enemies and cataclysms like most Avatars before never did and she fought tooth and nail for both humans and spirits, almost dying in the process, multiple times. Her personal growth and the character arc of such is impressive and well done. She's ride or die for her friends and for strangers too. And the fact that she takes no crap and can punch someone's face in for it is a bonus, not a flaw.
She gets an insane amount of hate for not dealing with everything that happens to her "better", mainly for showing traits considered cool in male characters like being a hothead and choosing violence
My bisexual queen went through the horrors while saving her world four times and she does not deserve the hate she gets, give her a break
She made mistakes and experiences "negative" emotions. People acted like she was the devil incarnate. Meanwhile; those same people fawned over Zuko, who is not only notoriously hot-headed but also literally raided and burned whole villages. People also do not seem to hold the same contempt for Azula as they do for Korra, which I believe is in part due to racism/colorism.
She was trying her best and she had the whole world on her shoulders with very little help to hold it. also, put "korra back muscles" into the search engine of your choice and behold.
She is the next iteration of the Avatar after the original series' beloved Aang. She also is a woman so as you can imagine fans were Very Normal about that. (especially the "it's forced diversity!!" crowd)
It's so frustrating because Korra is a character that the writers tried to make the exact opposite of Aang, presumably to avoid treading the same ground again. And it makes her interesting! and imo a better fleshed out character than Aang. but fandom doesn't seem to like that opinion a lot!

in my little pony universe youd go to a job interview and theyd be like so how does your cutiemark reflect your dedication to this position. And every time youd have to spew some bullshit about how your cutiemark of two tennis rackets actually means youre a team player and good at multitasking and view the market like a playing field. or whatever. and you wouldnt even get the job
Thanks to Equestria v Sugar Sprinkle, cutie mark interview questions are considered hiring discrimination, so if anypony asks you any cutiemark related questions or even alludes to any questions about your cutiemark such as "In your own words, describe your life purpose" you can and should refuse to answer. Know your rights, ponies.
We report right at the end of sunset, almost exactly missing the sun. Rising in its stead in the belt of Venus, the moon slowly goes from pink to orange. As we try to keep up with it, bats fly by our face, always narrowly missing it. The heat of the day is not leaving.
um actually there's nothing wrong with letting cats be outdoor pets. your cat is depressed locked inside forever. it's animal abuse. let it outside. more cats should be let outside more often. especially overnight.

Hello! Are YOU an enjoyer of Tsukuyo/Sarutobi, otherwise known as tsukkisachi? Alternatively, do you enjoy a good ship with bisexual women?
I wrote a thing.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
(Canon compliant—technically—and a missing scene between the shogun ass arc and the FS arc. Light angst, some humor, a pretty hefty dose of sapphic tension, and around 4k words.)
This was immediately after I posted the fic, too. It’s fucking dire out there! Anyway, it’s probably pretty obvious that it’s not a good idea to click on the link, but I’m putting this out there anyway because this isn’t a type of scam comment I’ve seen before.
