Alice Rowe

Arabella watched her sister curiously as she came up, taking her hands. The two often went head to head on a lot of things so to see Alice so cheerful and inviting towards her had taken Bella by surprise. “Uh I dunno– I’m a little tired from a long shift the other day. It’s probably for the best if I sit this song out,” the elder sister shrugged.

alice frowned slightly at her sister. “that’s not fair, just because you’ve had a long day doesn’t mean i should miss out of the fun.” she pouted for a moment before a cheeky grin returned to her face. “one dance then you can go back to moping, okay?” she suggested, wiggling her eyebrows at the other. 

“Then why do I feel like I’m going to drop dead any second now?” Bea moaned, but still let the other pull her towards the dancefloor.

“Sounds like someone didn’t get enough sleep last night if you ask me.” Alice mused as she tried to shake the grumpiness out of the other through dance. “Trust me you’ll have the time of your life okay?” 

Josie held out her hand to help Alice up. “Come on, you gotta admit it was a little funny, everyone does it every once in a while.”

Alice grinned widely at the other before taking her hand. “I’l be the first to admit it’s very funny.” she nudged the other gently with her elbow. “How are you?”

Josie let out a small laugh when she watched the other slip and fall on the ice. “I’m sorry, I am, but your face was priceless.”

Alice raised an eyebrow at the other before pouting at the blonde. “That’s so harsh, i’m sorry we don’t all have the same coordination” she teased the other. 

“You’re so right,” she laughed in response. “I’m certainly hoping for that free movie as well. I mean what else are we supposed to do in here?”

“I don’t think they’d be able to stop us, what are they going to do? Kick us out.” she grinned widely at the blonde before grabbing the others hand. “Let’s go, what do you feel like watching?” 

“Do you think they’ll give us free popcorn or let us watch the next movie free because we’re all snowed in here?” Winnie mused hopefully once the intercom finished announcing that the cinema goers were stuck until the blizzard cleared up.

“Think is a loose term.” Alice grinned widely at the other. “I think they’ll just have to accept their loss to ensure their customers are kept comfortable during this storm.” Alice elbowed the other gently. “It’s duty of care right, they can’t let us starve.” she joked lightly. 

Zoe looked up from her coffee pot that she had polluted with creamer and was drinking straight from the pot. “How lowly would you think of me if I answered with “holing up in my room, watching Shane Black movies, and maybe getting tipsy?”” She asked with a slight edge of amusement. 

“Not too lowly if it’s what makes you happy.” Alice admitted as she shrugged her shoulders lightly. “As long as you eat something before getting tipsy, i can approve that plan.” she offered the other a small smile as she let a laugh escape her lips once she noticed the coffee pot. “Been a long day?” she motioned towards the pot. “Or do you always drink from the pot?”

“I’m not saying it physically pains me when I see people dog-earing their books, but… Yeah, it actually does,” Camille said with a pout as she tried to smooth out the pages.

“I can feel your frustration.” Alice let out a small sigh as she looked over at the other. “Maybe you should put up a poster in the library? or a post on the socials.”

“I’m certainly not as good at this as I wish I was,” Winnie admitted when her ankle wobbled slightly as they made their way around the rink. “I’ve always envied the figure skaters who can do all the fancy spins, you know?”

Alice grinned widely as she offered the other a hand, for stabilisation. “Don’t worry i’m not going to be winning any awards for my skating either.” she laughed to herself as she guided the other around the ring. “Doesn’t mean i don’t enjoy making a fool of myself every now and then.” 

“Call someone? And for what reason exactly?” he challenged, raising a brow at her briefly before attempting to return to his reading. “I’m not exactly the sharing type, so I’ll pass on that one.”

“You just seem upset.” Alice answered before lightly shrugging her shoulders. She let out a small sigh as she took up a seat across from the other. “What are you reading?” she tilted her head to the side as she glanced at the cover. “I’m Alice by the way.”

“Can I help you?” Arcadius all but snapped at the person he felt looking over his shoulder as he flipped through a giant spell book. “I’m kind of in the middle of something here.”

Alice raised her hands in defence as she took a step back from the other. “I could sense the frustration...” she mumbled as she gestured down to the other. “Do you need me to call anyone?” She asked wondering if there was anything she could do to help the other. “What are you working on?” she asked curiously before pulling herself up. “That’s if you’re willing to share, I don’t mean to pry.”

“You’re right- hey, you know what takes up a lot of time and keeps you entertained and doesn’t need light.” Esme commented, making herself more comfortable on the floor, “Sleeping.”

“I mean there are a lot of other activities.. but whatever.” she rolled her eyes as she watched the redhead for a moment. “What’s your damage?” she tilted her head to the side as she tried to get a gauge on what the other was feeling. “How can you sleep with the unknown happening around you?”
