The scent of cold air

Enters my lungs in a rush.

We sat, side by side,

Never knowing we were doomed to

Be consumed wholely.

Captured in a still

Moment that doesn’t end here.

Forever with you.

Inspire me quick.

My interest is fleeting.

Once loved, I move on.

I am lacking in

Christmas spirit as I lay

Splintered in fractals.

Scattered, green growth, garden path.

Succulent death fruit.

A haze of empty

Frosted stemware sings off key

Begging to be drunk.

Basking in the glow

Of a warm, sunshiny day

With a dog by me.

I want to sit here,

Drinking eternity with

Warm cups and warm souls.

Of a tortured midnight soul

Moves even oceans.

Souls mingling in the night sky,

Naked to life’s sorrow.

Spiraling into sorrow.

Helpless, I only watch.

Inner emotions

Demand my violent anger.

I remain quiet.

From the rope it made you tie

With cold shaking hands.

My feet ache with cold.

Unaffected by warm thoughts,

I lay, shivering.
