It Doesn’t Matter If You Are a Traditional or Digital Artist

Art has never been defined by the tools used to create it. Whether an artist works with a paintbrush and canvas or a tablet and digital software, the true value of art comes from the ideas, emotions, and vision behind the work.

Traditional artists use physical materials such as paint, ink, clay, or charcoal. Digital artists use technology as their medium, creating through pixels, layers, and software. Both approaches require creativity, skill, practice, and a deep understanding of composition, color, storytelling, and expression. A tool is only a means to communicate an idea.

Throughout history, new technologies have always changed the way artists create. Photography was once criticized as not being “real art.” Later, digital tools faced similar criticism. Yet these mediums eventually became accepted because artists proved that creativity is not limited by materials. What matters is the artist’s ability to create something meaningful and authentic.

The debate between traditional and digital art often focuses too much on the process and not enough on the result. A painting is not valuable simply because it was made with a brush, and a digital artwork is not valuable simply because it was made with software. The importance of art comes from originality, imagination, and the connection it creates with people.

A true artist is not defined by whether they use a canvas or a screen. They are defined by their curiosity, dedication, and willingness to express something unique. In the end, art is about ideas, not equipment. The medium may change, but the purpose remains the same: to communicate, inspire, and share a human perspective.

You think this is moving the goalpost by saying "some people consider photography not to be an art" yeah, and those people are fucking idiots, just like whoever thinks a machine with no soul is capable of creating art.

AI art isnt creating anything, its removing artists as the middleman to steal the work that some of us have spent OUR ENTIRE LIVES DOING. This is disgusting.

We don't even have to bring up how awful AI is for the planet or for marginalized communities. We dont have to bring up the technological surveillance state that AI is creating either.
