Well, here He is. The fella. The sole survivor of the Live Aquaria disaster. I’m trying not to get attached bc I don’t have a lot of faith in where he came from but gosh, he’s fun and lovely to look at. (And it’s been almost two weeks and all the Columnaris issues seem to have cleared up.) He’s still in quarantine rn but soon I’m hoping to get him settled in a tank more suited to him. No name yet though. Not risking it.

Housemate ordered some angelfish, corydoras, and shrimp from them. Two of three angels were DOA. Two corys died within twelve hours and the other four appear to have a chilodonella infection. Shrimp are dying too.

When it was just the angels, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt but a parasite? No fucking way. Learn from us. DO NOT BUY FROM LIVEAQUARIA bc your resulting fish will not be.

FYI the angels they sent weren’t the kind that was paid for. They were a cheaper kind. One survived through sheer willpower and luck. It’s been a week of daily medication in brackish water.

I’ve seen too many people say they are scared or worried that people are going to attack them for how their fish tank looks. This is incredibly sad and with everything else going on today I want to be more positive and start a chain of people reblogging their fish tanks. I’m going to go first with Cassius’s fish tank:

This is my tank! I finally was able to get the lighting sorted out and start transitioning to live plants, which my lawnmower fish promptly pulled up. Only the java ferns and some anubias survived. Part of me definitely misses the indestructible silk plants I used to have. (P. soon the beasties will need an even bigger tank 😭 but they’re still quite young, so I’ve got a little more time.)
