Estelle Vincent staged simple multistory large wooden furniture in front of the historic backdrop to accommodate the necessary uses in contrast to the surrounding. This creates differentiated spaces that rearrange the areas of use in the inventory.

Nicholas Stathopoulos - Art Inspirited by Architecture and 2001
Nicholas Stathopoulos (Nick Stath) is an artist and architect. His work is full of grand structures that dwarf small, lone astronaut. In an email interview Nick explains that,
I have always had a passion for drawing and film, one of my biggest influences being Stanley Kubrick’s 2001:A Space Odyssey. I was drawn to the visionary aspect of the film and of course the black monolith - a simple, yet mysterious object that appeared to have so much power, it fascinated me and still does!
Nick’s architectural background helps him capture that large clean design that Kubrick used in 2001. Nick’s art inspires that same sense of awe. You can keep up with Nicholas Stathopoulos’s art on his Instagram Page, or buy prints of his work at Redbubble. Thanks to Ignant.

Jaime Haydon: Aballs Lamp
“When is the time you felt most broken?” “I first ran for Congress in 1999, and I got beat. I just got whooped. I had been in the state legislature for a long time, I was in the minority party, I wasn’t getting a lot done, and I was away from my family and putting a lot of strain on Michelle. Then for me to run and lose that bad, I was thinking maybe this isn’t what I was cut out to do. I was forty years old, and I’d invested a lot of time and effort into something that didn’t seem to be working. But the thing that got me through that moment, and any other time that I’ve felt stuck, is to remind myself that it’s about the work. Because if you’re worrying about yourself—if you’re thinking: ‘Am I succeeding? Am I in the right position? Am I being appreciated?’ — then you’re going to end up feeling frustrated and stuck. But if you can keep it about the work, you’ll always have a path. There’s always something to be done.”

I didn’t have a very eventful week, mainly because I was writing my co-op report and taking naps right after work. On the weekend, I went to check out the industrial design grad show at Carleton university. & went to the workshop A. Chong hosted :D
Desk Letters
A world of options in this alphabet inspired desk design by French, CGI Designer, Benoit Challand. Each offers a space with its own character.
“You can sit in an A-shaped desk, feeling like you’re at the prow of a ship, or in the smooth curve of a D, far more comfortable than being boxed into a traditional cubicle.”
