CREATIVE JUICES INSIGHT!

WHO? YOU OF COURSE! 

WHEN? Afternoon time, after having exercised in the morning in some manor. And having been outside, fresh air prior to my creative time. 

WHERE? Somewhere quiet, where I can think. Noises and people bustling around are not ideal for my creativity.

WHAT? At my desk I have a big pin-board area with all sorts of magazine articles and notes, pictures which have inspired me. Combine this with a nice calm atmosphere, and I’m good to go. 

HOW? Let my brain always tick through ideas, sometimes I feel as if my head is clicking much like a gear would or a cog.

5 WAYS THEY CREATED VALUE FROM “CRAYONS TO COMPUTERS”

1. RECYCLED UNWATNED STATIONERY AND SUPPLIES FROM BUSINESSES, WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE GO TO A LANDFILL. GOOD FOR NOT ONLY THEIR CAUSE, BUT ALSO THE ENVIRONMENT. 

2. GOOD USE OF SPARE TIME OF THE CONVICTS. NOT ONLY DOES IT HELP THEM FEEL AS IF THEY’RE GIVING BACK, IT PUTS THEIR TIME TO GOOD USE - CRAFTS WITH CONVICTIONS. 

3. FREE STORE FOR SCHOOL TEACHERS, WHO WOULD OTHERWISE SPEND ON AVERAGE BETWEEN $400-800 A YEAR TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE MATERIAL FOR CLASS! QUITE ASTONISHING. 

4. ACTUAL STORE WAS RUN BY VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME. THOSE WHO USED/ TOOK PRODUCTS FROM THE STORE WOULD HELP RE-STOCK THE SHELVES OR MAINTAIN THE STORE. TIME IS MONEY, BUT THEY DID IT IN A VERY TASTEFUL MANNER.

1. & 2.  We were very puzzle-piece rich and decided to use our assets as leverage for becoming chip wealthy. With the fine negotiation skills of Rodrigo and assistance from myself, as his right hand man, we bartered chips off of other teams for ‘special’ and ‘rare’ puzzle pieces which demanded a high asking price. Meanwhile, our puzzle experts consisting of Alex 2 (copyright of Taste of India), Billy the bulldozer and Venkat the Vendetta we put together a small cat puzzle to try and further increase our score. Meanwhile our puzzle pirates continued to smuggle as many pieces to add to our sacred treasure. AAAAARGH WE DID WELL ME LADDIES, 75 COINS IN ALL! (storydoing, not storytelling)

3. Our groups largest obstacle was putting together our puzzle, whilst we had a dedicated team to do so, I believe in retrospect our decision to not spend chips to buy a colour copy of the puzzle came back to haunt us. 

4. 

> Apply your resources carefully and efficiently.

> Understand the direction your company wants to go in, in our case it was a wealth maximisation via the collection and selling of puzzle pieces, on a high volume/ high profit model.

> Make a decision and stick with it, a DECISION is better than no decision.

WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN FOR AMERICA TO HAVE SWEET AND SALTY POPCORN AT THE MOVIES???

Our Jammin’ session was the first time I felt liking I had to use my Imagination within the class - Thinking on our feet with others, trying to create a product or tune in this case with no time to prepare. I think the more situations like this you are exposed to the better. Brain training - good to mix it up in class, as it says ‘Out of a Rut & Into a Groove’ 

Sir Richard Branson would be my disruptor. The way in which he’s been able to penetrate so many different industries with Virgin astounds me. How does he keep getting it right. There are people in this world, who JUST KNOW, JUST UNDERSTAND how to do things in LIFE. Branson is certainly one of them, his life story would teach us a lot if he came to speak in class - however optimistic that may be. 

Question 1. As an up and coming entrepreneur did you always have a knack for getting things right, in every aspect?

Question 2: What determines the path you take? What are the major industries you see yourself going into within the next 10 years?

Question 3: Is entrepreneurship within your DNA? Or is it something your life journey led you towards?
