Stone Road Stud

Holly is doing very well in her training! Today we started trotting, and with Dave coaching by my side, it went really well! I clocked and told Holly to trot, and she did what she had learned in the lungeline. She went forward in a very nice trot with big action in her legs. Holly was flarring her nostrils, she wasn't used to the weight on her back while trotting. She did well anyways! <3 The edit was a bit rushed, mostly because I didn't feel like doing an enormous edit, since it takes quite a long time, because she's dappled :3

This was of course celebrated with a picture of my beloved Dutch Warmblood mare Whisky. I'm not really a big fond of riding on grass, but we had to practise for the next show, we could risc it was on grass... Whisky was doing amazing in all gaits, she was very secure on her legs and had the right spirit. Whisky is not as long in her education as I want her to, normally I would have trained her to doing the easy lateralmovements allready, Whisky haven't got the enthusiasm. Today we started, and since her basic flat work is so good, it went amazing and she did just what she was supposed to do!

“ When working at our stable, you get the oportunity to have your horse stabled. Dave brought his 6 months old hanoverian - Shine Bright - to our stable. She has a hot temper and there is no such thing as listening to the owner. She has her meanings about everything, and shows it very clearly. You REALLY DON'T want to meet her, when she is in a bad mood. When she is in a good mood, you have a chance to walk and play with her, maybe even train her, but it's very rare. She is after a very high tempered dressage stallion and a moody show jumping mare. Her parents sire has some amazing gaits, and the mare is very fast, therefore we're hoping for a military horse with great potential. “

This girl impresses me ♥ Normally I wouldn't start to mount the horses, when they are as young as this girl is, but when Holly went over to the mounting block, it was almost as if she wanted me to sit up on here... I followed my instinct and mounted her. She was calm and began walking, as soon as I gave her the cue. After 2 meters of walk, I told her to stand still, and lifted the reins. She was very confused, but stopped anyway. I almost threw the reins away, so I could give her a big hug.
