Oh god. Iâve seen so many guys do this and think it is a fun conversation. It is not. It is weird. Ask them about their pets, what movies they like, where they got that sweet coat, but please donât ask how theyâve gotten so far in their lives without watching the cinematic masterpiece that is whatever the fuck you and your friends were obsessed with in high school.
Do not harp on the things you donât have in common, itâs a one way ticket to a one-sided conversation.

Somehow I donât think the card one is true, I mean, there are just so many times that people are shuffling decks that it is likely that each combination has been reached at least once.Â
Well, thereâs 80,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (67 zeros) ways to arrange a deck. There are more ways to arrange a deck of cards than atoms on the Earth. #funfact
and the one about dinosaurs...lights years are a form of measurement (1 light year= 5.87849981 Ă 10^12 miles). you wouldn't even really be able to see specific spots on earth from one light year, let alone millions. light years were formed to measure the universe (since miles are super short in comparison to the universe). light years have no relation to time measurement, and you would not be able to see dinosaurs from that distance since dinosaurs are already extinct.
shoutout to all the kids who
- grew up smart and lost it when they got to high school and dont know what happened
- are so bright but just cant focus academically
- are told their effort isnt good enough when in reality they just dont understand
- are too shy to ask for help and go without it and therefore dont reach the potential they know they have
- are brilliant in class but underperform in exams
- have to pretend that they dont care about their grades because they constantly underperform and dont want to look stupid
wtf is wrong with this child?

So my Algebra 2 teacher told me that Bernie was a socialist today. Enlighten me on that please.
He is a democratic socialist. Which is a good thing.
Read this post on why socialism is not what people in america think it means.
If you believe in those three things above, you are also probably a âsocialistâ.
Did you know these people were also âsocialistsâ?
deaddreamsanddebaucheryscenes:
Sorry but what the fuck do Americanâs have against socialists? I donât get it?
US citizens do not know the know the differences between socialism and communism, they also canât articulate the difference between either of them and fascism (also due in part to our horrible US-centric education system that frames everything else in a negative lighting).
In the US media landscape (e.g. cable news, talk radio), thereâs a continual barrage of right-wing propaganda which, unfortunately and for far too long, has been quite effective in framing debate and defining terms. And since it takes far less effort to lap up such nonsense rather than to think critically, it gets traction.
The message, for quite a long time now is that âfree market capitalismâ is the only economic mode compatible with freedom (and we Americans love our âfreedomâ). And the only other option is something very similar to Stalinist Marxism.
We have been âbrainwashedâ to believe that the word âsocialismâ is inherently evil and horrible because itâs not âamericanâ.
Not to mention that quite literally our children are and have been taught for decades (believe me, I remember) about the main social-economic systems in a very particular, guided way that not only harshly slants socialism, communism, and fascism into a sort of blurred conflation of ideas, but anything at all except capitalism is framed negatively from âsillyâ to âmisguidedâ to downright âbad and harmful.â
No critical thinking on these matters is encouraged whatsoever, and most of these curriculums will guide children to the notion that capitalism is the only good, fair, and effective system worth considering with quiz or test questions like âexplain why capitalism is the best system for the United States.â Children can answer these questions because the majority of that section of their textbook focuses on telling them exactly why that is, with perhaps a paragraph each devoted to the alternatives, excepting communism which gets an extra paragraph or two thanks to WWII and the Cold War.
Tl;dr American children are indoctrinated as early as possible to think âcapitalism = good and fairâ and âeverything else = bad and ineffectiveâ without any sort of deeper examination of why.
