Ahmad bin Harb رحمه الله said:

‎I worshiped Allah for fifty years, and I did not taste the sweetness of worship until I left off three things:

‎I abandoned pleasing the people in order to be able to speak the truth.

I left off the companionship of the corrupt until I found the companionship of the righteous.

I left off [seeking] the sweetness of the dunya, until i found the sweetness of [seeking after] the hereafter."

1. He never spoke much.

2. He never yearned for what people had.

3. He would never occupy himself with other people's affairs; all his attention was towards knowledge.

1. Er sprach nie viel.

2. Er sehnte sich nie nach dem, was andere hatten.

3. Er würde sich nie mit den Angelegenheiten anderer Leute befassen; seine ganze Aufmerksamkeit galt dem Wissen.

Do not forget to remember Allah.
