She slithered into their camp without a sound, gliding like a wraith along the dirt and twigs. Every so often, she adjusted the burden in her arms, hushing the creatures before they could give away her position. When she at last drew near enough to strike, she did not hesitate, pressing the dangerous implements to Solas’ sleeping form.

The tiny claws clinked against her lover’s pendant, three tiny pups wasting no time in sniffing and snuffling about his face and chest. Grinning, Aria maintained her position beside his cot, waiting for the young wolves to rouse the mage completely. “Good morning,” she hummed, voice warm with laughter. The sole black pup of the litter stared into Solas’ eyes and began its best imitation of a growl, encouraged by Aria scritching along his spine.

There were worse ways to be woken than having three wolf pups plopped on your chest. He smiled as his violet eyes opened, staring at the black pup. His hand reached and the pup snapped-- but in that gentle way of a baby just trying to figure things out. It mouthed at his fingers as he yawned and sat up, stretching enough to let his back pop. 

“It’s good you were there-- I wanted to be, but unforunately, the Fade’s call proved more insistent.” Solas leaned over to press a kiss to his love’s lips, absently playing with the pups as he did.

He blinks down at him. “You’re terrible.”

He laughed and lifted Malaka off their feet, holding him bridal style.

“Five more minutes,” the mumble came from under the blankets, hitching them up higher over his face. He felt the bed continue to dip and shift under the heavy weight of the qunari. Blue eyes dared to crack open blearily, catching a mere glimpse of a grey arm with ropes of scarring around it pressed into the bed.
