This is an unofficial Tumblr blog run by @almalex24 that covers all news related to Radical Fish Games' upcoming Action RPG - Alabaster Dawn! This also serves as a hub for anything related to Alabaster Dawn and by extension Radical Fish Games - any artwork, asks, theories, and more are welcome!

What is Alabaster Dawn?

Alabaster Dawn is an Action RPG building on top of the best aspects of Radical Fish Games' previous title CrossCode, featuring a deep and engaging combat system, challenging puzzles and an epic story set in a curious world full of secrets to discover and places to explore. Alone and without the guidance of the gods, Juno finds herself in a ruined world she once called home. Her task: awaken the rest of humanity and rid the world of Nyx. Only in unity can the world be rebuilt and only through the strength of a Chosen can the curse be broken.

Alabaster Dawn was featured in Indie Quest 2026!

A new 30 seconds of footage was showcased! It seems to be a combination of Early Access 0.1.0 content and some unreleased content for the next major update!

Alabaster Dawn x CrossCode x SHADE Protocol

As detailed in the new blogpost: For SHADE Protocol, content includes:

Secret bosses inspired by CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn

Special CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn themed Harmonies, huge cinematic skills similar to Level 3 Combat Arts from CrossCode

Stretch Goal: Guest music by Shirakumo Nagi, composer of CrossCode and Alabaster Dawn!

Stretch Goal: New Protocols, essentially game-changing “build” options, that give players more ways to play!

Stretch Goal: Potentially a full DLC with a new area, a self-contained storyline, and more!

For Alabaster Dawn, content includes:

SHADE Protocol themed Divine Arts! Expect some really cool stuff here!

Zura, SHADE Protocol’s Instrument-wielding, world-cutting main character, will become a playable reskin for Juno in Somu’s Dream, our rogue-lite mode!

All details are on their website, but to summarize:

A roadmap has been announced! The next update, 0.2.0, is estimated to be around three months from now in August!

An "Ask Me Anything" has been announced for May 22nd, 2pm CEST! It will be hosted on the r/JRPG Subreddit, and anyone is welcome to ask questions about the world of Alabaster Dawn and its development!

A collab between CrossCode x Alabaster Dawn x ????? has been announced! The third game is yet to be announced, but we have an animation cel from it, in addition to three clues that have been dropped around various platforms:

"Their main character is also a heroine!"

"Both our studios love worlds and stories that cut deep!"

"Everyone involved loves the sound of having more than one weapon in their arsenal!"

The first 5-10 hours of the game (estimated to be about 20% by the blogpost!) are available now to play! List of new things added, copied directly from the blogpost:

The complete first dungeon (the demo only featured the first half!)

An extended story, both before and after the end of the demo

Alabaster Dawn will be joining the Triple-i initiative showcase on April 9th! As described in the blog post:

Triple-i Initiative is a show with 100% back-to-back trailers of games from other studios like us, all within 45 minutes! So lots of world premieres, gameplay reveals, demo drops and… launch dates!

2025 Wrap-Up & Introducing a New Feature

A new character was introduced here: Somu, The Dreamer!

Somu can’t really remember anything about themselves but has the unique ability to let others enter their dream and thus request Juno to help them uncover their past by doing just that!

They are apart of a new Rouge-Lite inspired mode being developed alongside the main game! This mode reuses assets from the main development time, and thus isn't slowing down the progression of the main game. Again, more details can be found in the blog post!

Steam Next Fest Demo Update!

The Alabaster Dawn Demo on Steam has been updated to version 0.05!

Primarily, this update contains new story content and gameplay features! Other changes are detailed in the blog post.

The demo can be found here on the Steam store page! Additionally, any bugs you find can be reported in the Radical Fish Games discord server!

This demo version features two parts.

The first part will feature the actual beginning of the game including a prologue that we have thus kept secret! Any saves made within this part will be compatible with the full game.

The second part will skip ahead in the story to showcase several highlights including a part of a dungeon. Any saves within this part will be reset back to the end of the first part when loaded in the full game, so you won’t miss any of the skipped content.

Overall this demo version features:

A playtime of around 1.5 – 2.5 hours

2 melee weapons and 2 range weapons with their own skill trees and combos

9 enemy types

This is mainly the same trailer as previously shown - no further updates on the release date either - but the end of the video has extended footage that is really interesting! Seems like there will be two playable characters at the very least!

In the meantime, the Gamescom Showcase that happened last week has been recorded and voiced by Wervyn and PuellaDocta!
