One journalist that has been a true inspiration to me since I was younger has been Jorge Ramos, a Mexican journalist, news anchor for Noticiero Univision, and is a host of the Sunday morning news talk show Al Punto. This particular journalist has always been very vocal about his stand on the Immigration Reform and has appeared on multiple shows such as NBC, CNN,CBS along with numerous other news organizations.

      My media diet is very inconsistent , and is mostly filled with a variety of sources from different templates to different languages. As a result of living in a Ecuadorian household , Spanish is a must at home : including Spanish broadcast news and news papers (Univisión 41 and El Diario ). Another source of news is usually NY1 , which is usually the quick morning news with not much detail but enough to keep me informed . 

     When waking up in the morning the first thing I turn on is NY1 and get informed along with the weather and on my way to school I usually buy a "El Diario" along with picking up "Metro NY" and read on my way to school and home. During week day afternoons and weekends my main source of news is Univision 41, which always gives me news about central and South America , along with the United States.

   Regarding social media, I've never been a "power house user" although with this class I hope to become one and learn exactly what that entails and how to do it correctly . Instagram is something I use on the regular mostly keep up with friends threw pictures .

 Ever find yourself humming the same song in your head all day ? not the whole song just a certain part " I came in like a wreaking ball ...." over and over again in your head ... its the result of what musicologist Vicky Williamson said in a 2012 interview with NPR. The idea of the repetitive tune or verse in your head is known as a "Ear-worm" yes , i said ear worm also viewed as a auditory stickiness due to the repetitiveness and simplicity of a song of a song .

I chose to compare these two news organizations because they are the ones I watch most frequently, although both are very different they both present news in different formats such as time and the way they become more specific in certain things.

    Univision 41 Noticias; A predominantly Spanish news channel , targeting Hispanics in the United States presenting news from all over the world briefly but also news from the tri-state area such as the 5 boroughs in New York. They usually cover things such as problems facing the Hispanic community along with making news accessible in a simple format for those who can’t watch an English news channel. In my opinion, they do a great job in presenting the news during a time of the day in which in many cases families are together. For example in my household news at 6pm was when we usually sat in the living room right before dinner. Therefore making us discus what happened or our thoughts during dinner, and being able to express our opinions. The audience to a news channel in this case is usually adults between the ages of 30- and older,  although I’ve noticed due to Facebook and people sharing things they are gaining a younger audience due to their work and support on the dream act .

NY1;A news channel that is constantly running on the hour and subject to change depending on breaking news but usually present everything on a timely schedule. For example, they present “Weather on the 1s” and the rail and road report every 30 minutes to keep everyone informed. In my opinion NY1 is a quick just snippets of news, enough to make an impression but the full news story will usually be on their website with further details. I usually just see NY1 when I want the weather and the rail report in order to check for any service changes and to help decided what to wear according to the weather.
