Star Stream

First off this fic was heavily inspired by 2 of mikawa-sensei's extras. Those being the fantasy dream one and the one where's Kei completely decked out on in clothing with dragons on them (and me wanting to see Kotekko do dumb crap as knights). I hadn't originally planned for it to be a dream and had it more fleshed out as an actual au but the idea of the General being able to enter Kei's dreams and influencing them, had me cracking up so bad. I do plan on doing a more solid au but probably not anytime soon. Idk we'll see. Motivation and inspiration strike at the weirdest times.

Anyway I also really wanted to get more into their clothing which isn't really explained or detailed in the fic >_> so with my abysmal art skills here's what it would like:

It is heavily inspired by 13th century knight wear, specifically this picture:

Going back to my little drawing, the line in the middle depicts the rank of the knights, so someone freshly knighted would have a yellow line go their the middle of the surcoat. Someone like coach Sako or coach Iwasaki would have a solid colored surcoat with more embroidered details. No specific colors for them yet tbh I wasn't thinking that far 😔💔

Next topic is Tsuchiya!!! Tbh I have such a soft spot for him and wished I could've gone more into detail with his mage status and his fortune telling tent. In my original notes I did explore it a bit more lol. Here's a couple of screenshots of the original dialogue:

Anyway, Tsuchiya is the real mvp in this fic with his wind magic.

It's all over the place but shhhh don't mind that and the typos.

Now for the General and the dragon!

Yes, the dragon is Kameda. The dragon can be whoever you wish for it to be though. The Houya director, Kameda, idk.

For the General and Kei.

Originally I had planned for the General to physically show himself. In the dream Kei would just assume that it's the sword taking his form to have the physical shape of a human. But I thought it'd be better if the General remained as a voice and leave the reveal for the end. The exact time the fic/dream takes place isn't really set but since it's a dream, I like to think that's what makes the General more lax with his personality. He pokes at Kei and laughs a lot more. I guess Watanabe's role does kind of give a set time...so any time beyond his introduction in the manga. Now, why is General the talking sword instead of treating the dream like a movie? He thought it'd be funny.

I think my favorite lines of the fic are:

"I would say in the flesh, but, well, you know. In the steel, I suppose," The General says in Kei's silence.

What's Kei supposed to say? Sorry you didn't end up chumming it up with a talking sword? Tough luck?

Yamada doesn't know who Tsuchiya is talking to.

"I am a sword."

To end this mess of a note, this was not supposed to be 15k words. It was supposed to be around 3k-4k and that was it and then it spiraled very much out of my control. Things kept being added and added and I was like damn when am I gonna finish this. Like...this was supposed to be for Kei's birthday 💀 and it's June. So to try and finish it I kept telling myself that I can't read the latest bouba chapter until I do, but I caved for April's chapter but x2!!! I have yet to read May's chapter which i will do later today at last.
