I keep seeing people literally blame other Deltarune players for starving Kris, even blaming themselves for it as well! And like...
Yeah, Kris hasn't been really eating anything (as Susie confirms that Dark World food isn't really sustainable either). They haven't showered, they haven't gone to the bathroom, they s e e m to be able to sleep without their SOUL, but it doesn't seem genuinely healthy to them to sleep like this- It's actually incredibly dangerous. And yeah, we can't do any of the basic things Kris needs for their survival, but the game doesn't actually give us the option either..??
And like- Does anyone feel like the options to feed Kris seem strange?? They're never the MAIN option, that's what I mean, and they're always somehow tied to other characters.
You can make Kris steal Asriel's 5 Dollars so they can go to Diner with Susie.
You can deny Gerson's offer for tea, and they'll close their eyes to eat a whole apple with Ralsei's help.
You can choose to not hand Toriel her toast, walk all the way towards school and Kris will eat when the screen turns dark and they enter the school.
You can't ever actually choose for Kris to eat, it's never an clear, obvious option, and the times they can eat are very... Lore heavy??
It's as if the game considers Kris being able to eat something like an alternative option, like- Optional and entirely skipable, in fact, it may even correlate to how Kris feels about themselves?? They don't want to eat, even if they're hungry, they don't want the player to see them eating (for some fuckin reason that I just don't get it-).
Like- Yeah, it's probably heavily tied to their self-sacrificial and suicidal tendencies, which sucks immensely for them, but like-
Can we please take a moment to breathe, and step out of the game for a moment?
I was being serious at the start, there's SO many people who genuinely blame themselves in real life for Kris's problems, and I'm worried people are going to start harming themselves because of it. Well, I should say harming themselves MORE, because of it.
Blaming yourself for something you're not responsible for is a form of self harm, and I'm not the best at saying this but I hope no one gets severely hurt because of this game- Or any other media, actually!
Idk what I'm even saying, sorry I'm not the best at saying these things.
Just be careful the way you play the game, and get invested in these characters, okay?
