This display ad was created for Toys of Eros, an adult store in Provincetown, MA, to promote their DVD rental program during Bear Week.
Provincetown is a small town on the tip of Cape Cod with a large gay community. During the summer, the town has themed weeks that are targeted toward different groups in the gay community (newly-out lesbians, bears, circuit boys, leather, families, women of color, etc).
Bear Week attracts big hairy men the world over--and the guys that love them. There is also a relatively large population of summer and year-round residents that prefer big hairy bears, so the ad continued to work its magic well after Bear Week.
