Protecting each other in different fonts [scene analysis + may contain huge spoilers] part 2
Hyeok-woo looks at him with a widened gaze. It was the first time anybody had mentioned his father in a way his mind portrays him to be. But he fears that too, for if So Mun knew who is his father really is behind closed doors then nothing in his power can keep him away from the danger he knew so damn well.
His father from last night flashes to his mind and his eyes reflect worry but at the same time, softness. It was at these moments that he felt understood, that the terrors he had experienced are very much real and So Mun mentioning it, relieves him from the thought that no one can understand him because the curly haired boy is an enough proof that someone will.
Despite, So Mun having a deeply rooted grudge and hatred to Hyeok-woo's father. He still is careful with his words (using dad and even his sentences are thought out), just as he were since the start of this scene. He could've easily used violence and spout words that reek out the most vile terms out there but still, he is collected though a bit shaken up (who can blame him really, it was his parents at stake too), and chose kindness. Perhaps, he knew that by making sure that the evil in Hyeok-woo's father is summoned, he could keep him safe too.
While Hyeok-woo chose to be subtle with his attempts in keeping So Mun safe. So Mun is direct in showing it.
I love them <33
